I'm almost certain it'll happen, it's just a matter of when. Lucas has been wanting to do this for a long time. But re-doing all 6 movies in 3D won't be easy, and it'll be tough to focus on that and the multiple TV shows at the same time. It might come down to a question of time and priorities.

After the success of Avatar in 3D, everybody wants to redo their movies in 3D. It's only a matter of time before we see Schinlder's List in 3D.

I minded the remastering, and I minded 2 of the prequels. But I wouldn't mind seeing the originals in 3d. That could be kinda cool.

Ugh, I'm so sick of the news about 3D lately. 3D TV, and now Star Wars getting the 3D treatment. Who cares.

I'm right there with you...can't see in 3-D (blind in one eye) so this trend is completely useless to me.

Hell, maybe instead of re-doing the current 6 films in 3D he can go forward and make a post-Jedi trilogy. With CG being so good now the fact that the original actors are so old wouldn't matter.

Hmmm. Interesting. I'd probably see that.

I'd like to see the first Jurassic Park re-done in 3D. The T-rex road attack, Jeep chase and Raptor attacks would be really intense in 3D. And that scene where the Gallimimus were jumping over their heads would be amazing in that format.

Fuck George Lucas. He'd use this to sneak more changes in.

Lucas has been scheming about 3D even before the prequel trilogy. This really isn't new. And is anyone genuinely surprised anyways?

Beyond caring at this point, wake me up when George Lucas dies and somebody who actually cares about cinema gets ownership of his movies.

All the 3-D in the world won't stop half the movies from being trash. And not to mention the ever spiralling degredation that is becoming the original trilogy.

    Sorry, George, try again.

    Or better yet, don't.

I can't think of a single change that actually had a genuine purpose either, the twat really should waste his time with some other project rather than tainting the series further.

The speeder-bike chase in ROTJ would be incredibly nauseating in 3D.

A bit like The Phantom Menace as it is now.

I'd have to agree on that. I loved the original trilogy, and I'm still hunting to this day to find copies of the original trilogy that haven't been altered in any way. So far, there's the VHS tapes, but those are really hard to find, even at the local trade store.

*Strokes his original trilogy in VHS lovingly*

    My Precious...

I still need to get a VHS to DVD converter. I got too many movies I barely watch because of potential degradation.

But I swear, can't Lucas leave his movies the hell alone? They're over! Finished!

There's original theatrical version of all three Star Wars movies on DVD, and you can find them on Netflix; no need for VHS to DVD converter.
