Yup, post Xmas/new year sale at Target, saw one on an endcap, got it. It's a great toy and decades from now, might be looked upon as an awesome anomaly. Pretty cool that Hasbro got the designer of the original 1978 mold to design it also. It's an unwieldy piece but makes for an excellent playset. Sadly it's probably the last of its kind. I can't get back into 5POA either. Their sculpts, textures and surface detail are excellent. I'm not into them though, even when POTF2 was out in the mid 90's I became quickly bored with the smaller vehicle scaling(sure most big vehicles aren't exact 1/18 but are close enough for me) and 5POA. I had a big gap in Star Wars collecting from 97 up until 2004 maybe. I then cut back hard again starting in 2015. The elephant in the room which I've yet to see any media outlets report, is that the mainline Hasbro toys are a shadow of the empire that they used to be, regardless of how the movies turn out. Execs from the toy and movie industry point to the movies but they're not accepting the fact that the 2018 mainline is substantially different from the 2008 and IMO I think that is the true cause of low toy sales. Star Wars toys used to sell regardless of how bad the movies did in the theater or home release. Us 3.75 guys had it good until 2011.
Been 4 weeks now and my package from BBTS containing my Dengars still have not arrived. On top of that, it may be slower because of the Postal Strike in Canada. And on top of that, delays because of Holiday packages piling up. On the bright side, My L3-37 did arrive from Amazon.
I think it's an either or situation. If the movies weren't so bad, or the toys weren't so bad, they might survive. But outside of the sluggish and often uninspired selection of the six inch line, Star Wars is a line of mediocre toys of mediocre assets and characters. It's a double whammy of crap. Everything got more expensive to make and took a dive in quality with the economic downturn of 2011-12, but Star Wars never really bounced back. I mean, Transformers still pumps out quality designs despite the increasing manufacturing costs, they find a way to work around the budget limitations, and they're way more intricate than Star Wars figures. It's not impossible to make good toys under these growing restrictions, it's just a lack of decent source material and focus. The 3.75 inch line might as well be dead, and it takes far too long for the six inch line to deliver on the level or variety and interest of the 3.75 inch line of last decade. It's every worse case factor coming together.
I love her! She stands fine, contrary to lots of people complaining she can't. You merely have to swivel her thighs outwards a degree or two; in a natural v stance, and not with her feet parallel. Either way, great figure with lots of cool details. Looks fantastic next to Lando obviously.
It's always bossk and ig that are such a pain. Anyways, even though I am still waiting for my dengar from BBTS, I just got an email from dorkside saying my other dengars have been shipped.
Good luck in getting your Dengar(s) @Lazerwave as you might have to wait a long time before you get it. I'm also affected as I'm in YVR. Canada asks world to stop sending mail
Thanks. Glad to know that I'm not the only one who faces long wait for star wars figures. Sure that postal strike is face delays for lots of Canadians. Just that this is my first time using BBTS and I'm just not sure how reliable their shipping service is. They must be getting lots of US packages no problem. But Canadian packages they probably don't get too often and they might not be use to it.
What other delivery services does Canada have? UPS? FedEx? If it goes much longer, Holidays in Canada are going to suck with nothing being able to be mailed.
I actually saw Bespin Han in person when I picked up my HT ESB Regular Boba Fett today. A very well done resemblance to Harrsion Ford right down to the busted nose and he doesn't look like the jacked up one from the Orange bordered version.
