I know what you must be thinking...what the heck? Well last night I got to thinking, what if someone designed/ produced transforming figures based on say, the Enterprise(any one, though I think the E would work best), Romulan Warbird, or a Klingon Bird of Prey. Hasbro has the SW transformers, some of which work(Clone Pilot, Darth Maul), some of which dont(I'm looking at you Boba/Jango).
Granted, since Hasbro doesnt own the rights to Trek, it would have to be someone else making them, but hey I can dream. So am I the only one who has pondered this?

I love the idea. Trek came before Wars, so ergo. Trek pwns Wars.

What I'd give to have a transforming Enterprise....

Sorry, but personally I have even less interest in that then the Star Wars TFs.

Well, if the Star Wars TFs, were made so that the SW vehicles tuned into TF figures that also came with famous SW pilots (i.e. a TIE Advanced that transforms into Starscream and comes with a mini Vader figure), I think the line would have done much better. If they did something like that for a Star Trek line, that might be okay, but I'd never buy a an Enterprise E figure that transforms into a huge, metal Picard no matter how funny that sounds.

Okay, I admit it, I'm a bit of a Trekkie (not -er, just -ie). More so than a Star Wars fan. (Dodging hurled insults.) So yeah, if they made these and they looked decent, I'd probably buy them. But probably only if they were made by Hasbro/Takara... I just don't tend to like other companies' transforming toys (like the Marvel ones, ick). And only if they didn't turn into actual characters from the show... that would be beyond lame.

They would either have to turn in to new, generic robotic characters done in the general Transformers style.... or established Transformers characters that turn into Star Trek ships (i.e. Prime as the Enterprise, Bumblebee as a Runabout, Megatron as a Romulan Warbird, Starscream as a Klingon Bird of Prey, etc.).

But I know I'm in the minority, and most people would view these with (at best) puzzlement and (at worst) outright contempt and loathing. So they would sell poorly, and no doubt be a financial flop. Ah well. Guess I'll never see Jazz as the U.S.S. Defiant..... :)

I got nothing against it, as long as it's not the SWTF approach of "Enterprise-A turns into a mechanoid likeness of Jim Kirk".

Sadly, Star Trek is in very ill health these days, so it's terribly unlikely that we're going to see much of anything interesting Trek-wise for a long time. (And no, I don't hold out hope for this prequel movie thing they're doing.) Hell, Hallmark is rehashing last year's Star Trek ship ornament for this year's ship ornament.

That said, I'd at least be interested in a Defiant TF.

    I love Star Wars.

    I love Transformers.

    I hate SW Transformers.

I like Star Trek, but don't love it. So if I hate the SW TFs, I'd sneer in contempt at Star Trek ones.

The only way I would be interested in ST transformers is if they were not based on actual characters. I Klingon bird of Prey that could transform into a mean looking decepticon type transformer would rock, but it can't look too much like a klingon.

I'm down for anything that transforms. But I'm with the SWTF-haters who can't stand the character-inspired robot modes. It's just silly--a silly idea to begin with, and silly-looking in the execution.

The SWTFs are bad enough. The ship designs (both ST and SW) are cool, but they're just not made to turn into robots. And with Trek there's not enough designs to match with characters. You've got generally 7-10 people (main cast) per ship, so you just have it TF into the captain and that'll give you what, maybe 5 or 6 figures? Then you have to go into the more obscure stuff like the other races, minor ships, etc that no one's going to recognize.

    In short... hell no.

I dig Star Wars and I am obsessed with Transformers, but I think SW Transformers are horrid. It may be good for kids, but it isn't for me.

Now I love Star Trek, but if they made ST Transformers I would just break down and cry, because then two of my favorite properties will be sullied

SW transformers are horrid because they transform into robots with human stupid heads.

I am stupid Chewbacca-bot! I have a furry wookie head on a clearly robotic body!

If Star Trek TFs was lame crap like Picard's head on a robotic enterprise body... That would be an abomination.

Sadly TF vs Gi.joe has opened the door to endless crossovers:

*Humans from <any series> come across deactivated TFs
*TFs take alt modes consistant with <any series>
*Bad TFs align themselves with the bad faction, Good TFs align themselves with the good faction
*TFs team up with human partners in a pokemon-ish way.
    *Hijinks ensue
*Tfs go 'back to cybertron' after help from the silly humans.

    This works for *ANY SERIES*

    Example:

I mean seriously... Where does it end?

    See?

Drek... Pure schlock. Don't make me spell out a Scooby-doo crossover.
