Just watched it and the 1st 10mins was amazing the Cgi ect plus that alien ship reminded me of Unicron when it come out that storm Loophole.. Didn't the writers from Transformers 1 and 2 write star trek as well..?
I think the writers' strike had a lot to do with it. TF2 got rushed into production in order to beat the strike, they got someone else to write the thing and then brought Kurtzman and Orci in to, basically, play clean up.
okies didnt know that just thought they wrote it and used all there time and effort in star trek but didnt this film get put back as well.?
heh. i was about to say something similar [not that i'm really hatin on Bay. cuz i like a lot of his stuff actually but] the reason TF2 is the way it is is because of Bay's input and what he wanted out of the script. not cuz the writers are incapable of writing a good TF story or something or that they just love star trek better so they put more effort into that its more of the who has the most input and say. it IS, afterall "Transformers: a MICHAEL BAY film"
yeah robertr orci said here that the directors like bay add stuff. like those goofy twins what huh? you dont like my animal faced transformers well then take that. goofy twins. he really does hate transformer fans i dont understand why so many of us are stuck up his but. i liked the first movie but all i can think about the second is everything that was wrong with it. bays first response about transformers was you want me to make a movie out of this? he doesent like tf he doesent like tf fans. i have no hope for future sequels until they get rid of that tf hating jackass
When I first saw the alien ship for the first time, I yelled out 'Oh my god it's Unicron' and the middle group of the theater cracked up laughing. My best friend was there with me and she still brings it up. jD001
Star Trek reboot had an awful lot of plotholes and contrivances itself; not sure if I'd consider the story to be that much better than TF per se, but the dialogue was definitely a hell of a lot better and the humor was generally smarter.
I loved this movie. I'm a newish fan to Trek... always loved the Federation ship design, and that's where my joy of the series ended... until I started watching Next Gen, DS9, and Enterprise again (shaddup, I enjoyed it). The movie was epic and it's the most amazing blend of new and familiar you can get... plus, they gave themselves a fun new alternate timeline to play in... can't wait to see what they do next
I agree. When you look back it's got some major issues with the story. But the biggest difference is that as you say the humor and dialog was so much better you don't notice this so much at 1st viewing, TF I noticed a few times plot holes and such.
