Frankly, it looks kinda stupid to me - a base with a head?

It's one of the few Primes I don't have - sell me on it.

Don't put it in base mode if the head sticking out bothers you. I never do, I have to admit.
Keep it in either the extremely cool (and motorised) half-track truck mode, of the extremely cool (albeit poorly articulated) robot mode. He's big, cool looking, and motorised.

I like him, but he'll more than likely go on sale. I bought the last reissue long after he'd been released from BBTS (I think) for pretty cheap.

Well, he is the only motorized TF I don't have (that I know of), so that's tempting.

Could the head be modded to at least...turn around?

It is a big statue that rolls on batteries, will stun pets and babies.

You have Dai Atlas then, I take it? Lucky sod.
IIRC you'd have to cut it off to do so.

I didn't know he was motorized. Dammit.

I just have the basics - Omega Supreme, Trypticon, Sky Lynx (on the way) - I thought those four were it.

Yup, Dai Atlas is motorised. Rolls along in vehicle modes, "walks" (rolls along, in other words) in robot mode, and the tracks act as conveyor belts in base mode. Pretty damn cool.

It's a motorized brick that makes Powermaster Prime look fully articulated. Totally worth it if this is the only Prime you're missing from your collection.

Quick comparison shot between the original (white plastic) and the reissue (silver plastic):

Also, another excellent reason to get him is the Hot Rod Micromaster. He's awesome. He also shows how huge Star Convoy really is.

Agreed. I also like the tiny hot-rod mircomaster. Nice touch. :thumb

you definatly sold me on not buying him with the closer up shots. he's the embodiment of why I hated the late late g1 figures, large cheap plasticy looking with even less articulation then the early diaclones. they remind me alot of the crap that bandai has been throwing out in the sentai lines the last few years. I will admit even I liked diatlus.

I know why I like my reissue Ginrai better, the articulation! :)
