Bludgeon was designed to be released in the Generations line as well, but budgetary concerns or whatever nixed it. Seaspray had the same fate, which is why both of those toys look very Classics-worthy.

Of course, Bludgeon is a better voyager than anything Classics could ever come up with.

As themselves bulkhead because he looks good opposite rts lugnut and thundertron because he's a newly added canonical character from the novels and he lacks the Prime cartoony faces

Yeah I have a few of those late ROTF/HFTD toys repurposed as CHUG/Classics.
Bludgeon, Seaspray, the seaspray repaint as Wave Rider, Banzai-Tron, Terradive as Hooligan, Space Case, maybe some more than that.

Besides that I have a lot of Cybertron toys repurposed.

    Cybertron Evac as Blaze Master
    Cybertron Landmine as Scoop
Cybertron Quickmix as .. wait for it.. Quickmix!

I am to tired to remember more of them now, but I have repurposed more Cybertron toys + some of the movie repaints of Cybertron toys; Fracture, Crankcase, Big Daddy.

Well I display my figures according to mainline, subline figures go with the Mainline they came after. For example: HFTD Terradive is on my ROTF shelf. And each figure is strictly displayed under what line they follow. I do however consider some movie or other non-classics line figures to be able to function well as classic versions of those characters. So they're essentially multipurpose figures. Anyway, here are mine:

    ROTF Bludgeon
    HFTD Seaspray
    HFTD Highbrow
    ROTF Lockdown

And oddly enough there are some figures that are retools of movie molds under the RTS line (aka classics use) that dont serve very well as classics, Mindset, Chopsaw. Go figure :p

Move WalMart exclusives were originally set to be Universe figures before they decided they'd sell better as movie figs. So they work well for me. That's Crankcase, Fracture and Breakaway (Getaway)...

That's also Grindcore and Divebomb too.

Fearswoop if you count that as well.

I've got tons of stand ins. Several already stated, some not. Some surprising but I feel, awesome. However, all that said:

OP, what's wrong with Brawl, Brawl, Brawl or the other Brawl for Brawl?

Yeah, we've got a lot of Brawl options before you even go looking elsewhere like Heavytread.

As others have pointed out, Bludgeon and Seaspray are supposed to be Classics\CHUGTHULU anyway. Seaspray's designer even said so in an interview.

Lugnut is the same as well. The whole gimmick of 'reveal the shield' was a throwback to G1, and designs based on the toy even show up in the Rodimus vs Cyclonus two pack and the IDW G1 comics.

This is a cool thread, though. Because Classics isn’t a single line, but really a bunch of lines that fans (and HasTak) group together, they have kind of a blurry aesthetic.

Look at Classics Starscream vs Generations Drift. They have a similar style, but it’s still a bit different, and Drift has more joints. You can see that they were aiming at the same look, even if the style has changed and improved.

Because of that, you can even take figures that weren’t officially meant for Classics (unlike Seaspray or Bludgeon or Lugnut), and put them in there as long as you’re okay with it. I use ROTF Long Haul in Classics, and DOTM Skyhammer. And some people even use Animated figures in Classics. It’s a nice thing to have a personal canon, and it's good to see other people having fun with collecting.

So here's some of what I use.

PRID Bulkhead - There's an official Classics Lugnut already, and he needed a brawling partner.

The FE version distinctly looks like TF Prime Bulkhead, which is why I wouldn't use him in Classics. Just like I wouldn't use the PRID version for TF Prime, because he doesn't look much like the onscreen character.

The PRID version is much more rectangular than round, and that's actually an advantage for Classics. He reminds me a lot of Ironhide and Hound. He's got all the features I want in a general Bulkhead. Bulky? Check. Green? Check. Big ground based alt mode? Check. Hinged jaw? Check!

(He doesn't have the 'teeth' on his jaw, but only one version of Bulkhead has had that so far, while both have had a hinged jaw.)

PCC Heavytread - I use him as Guzzle.

ROTF Long Haul - Classics Devastator is missing a dump truck, and I don't mind some of my Decepticons having a more monstrous look.

ROTF Hoist - Looks great in alt mode, and I don't mind movie designs mixed in with Classics.

Breacher - Breacher reminds me a lot of Battle Rollar, and even his APC alt mode reminds me of G1 Roller, so that's who I use him as. He also looks good next to WFC Optimus Prime.

    ROTF Mindwipe - G1 Mindwipe.

Movie Mudflap - G1 Erector. The alt mode and the colors make it a great match, and Classics already has a theme of giving minibots bigger bodies.

I also have a few other figures in Classics as themselves, like Bulkhead, but that's less a character being a stand-in so much as it just being a cool character that fits how I see the Classics aesthetic. :)

Breacher is Roller. I mean, the resemblance is uncanny. Prime
head, six wheeled altmode, top gun, blue.
