I hope it's the new version! Heck, they should just run the video as is; it'll get lots of laughs on its own;)

So American Dad is now a better Transformers product than either of Bay's films. Huh.

Poor Stan Bush. It must be hard to live with the fact that your only legacy in the world of music is a crap song from a 1980s cartoon movie.

Oh, please. If they'd used any other song in the movie at least half of the people here who love The Touch so much wouldn't even give it a full listen.

I bet it'll be used in conjunction with some joke about molesting kids.

American Dad: "Show us on this Optimus Prime doll where Stan Bush touched you."

Not a big fan of the song or anything Seth McFarlane makes anymore. Pass.

The Touch is starting to become the forced meme equivalent of a classic song.

So you're saying you don't have proof? You were just throwing out random comments to try and justify your dislike of something other people do like? Why didn't you say so?

    Am I missing something here?..

Anyway, personally I wish Stan Bush would stop trying to plug the song so much. Not sure if this is the case here, but it seems to me he gets a newspost every 6 months because the song's going to be in a cartoon/on a movie soundtrack/in a videogame/in a Bumblebee toy.

Whether it's a good song or a bad song, it's a big part of the TF movie, and I'm sure many people have fond memories of it..but still, no need to keep trying to force it into everything that has Transformers on/in it. Let it go.

On the other hand, maybe they should let Vince DiCola give another shot at something TF related...

But that's just my own egotastical opinion.

Can I prove that people wouldn't like the song if it wasn't in the movie? Of course not. The song was in the movie and people like it. I can't alter reality to change that.

I just hold the belief that if another song had been used in the movie, a good chunk of Transformer fans would love that song and wouldn't care for The Touch. It's a song whose popularity is made up largely out of its use in one specific film.

I love the 86 film, and I certainly do not love Stan Bush.

Yes, for most TF fans 'The Touch' has sentimental value, but it's hardly a 'good' song. The fact that Bush spends almost his entire career talking about this one song and re-creating it, making it available in new mediums is just....sad. It's pretty obvious that his career is only surviving by TF fans and a small group of others. He hasn't had any real commerical success and as stated above, his only real claim to "fame" (i'd say infamy) is a song used in a 1980's cartoon movie about toy robots.

Sorry, but this is true. As Switchblade said. Had another song been used for those moments in the movie, everyone would have fond memories of that song, and chances are 95% of those people, if they heard The Touch would think 'wtf is this garbage?'

I have to disagree. I loved that song because to me it came from a soundtrack for a hilarious movie from the 90's about the porn industry. I flipped the fuck out when I saw The Transformers Movie around 2 years ago for the first time in decades. I couldn't believe it was the same song.

But, I do admit that I love it for it's ridiculousness. I can't really chime in on my appreciation for it based solely on when I knew it from Transformers because I didn't know it enough to stop me from completely forgetting it. I am sure I dismissed it at the time as being just another 80's POS song, despite being 7 years old at the time.

Am I the only one who actually likes "Dare" better? I mean "The Touch" is a great song, but "Dare" just seems to be better written.

I'm glad this got moved. Should we scour IMDB to see what miscellaneous sound engineer #3 is working on today for news credit? As a matter of my opinion, this song hurts to listen to. It's overly 80's and certainly not timeless like a lot of stuff that came from that era.
