Stan Bush is great, but after a week of guest announcements Stan being a Botcon regular is kind of a let down. I hope there are still more guests to announce.

I remember waiting in line to play the (then) new TF game at Botcon 09 when Stan Bush stopped by to square off against a fan playing a version of 'The Touch' on Guitar Hero. It was pretty awesome! Looking forward to seeing him again this year. :D

I feel bad for him that his only way to try to get his name out there is to cling to transformers... And these movies wanted nothing to do with him.

bit harsh ? I see it as someone who has a connection to something people love and he's not afraid to embrace it.

Good on him and hope those going enjoy the music / cheese

Cool news. I won't be at Botcon this year, but was fortunate enough to make it last year in Orlando. And with that Botcon being my first, Stan was one of the guests I wanted to meet along with several others. I remember waiting in line for a good while to get his autograph, and he was nice enough to get up from his chair, shake my hand, and willing to get a picture with me. Really nice guy and easy to talk to.

Over the years, I've read several folks posts that he over-promotes "The Touch" so much, a song I love and still enjoy to this day. And while I understand their way of thinking and wish he would instead promote other work he's done, most fans like myself who don't attend Botcon often appreciate seeing him for the first time for nostalgic's sake.

Sounds like this year's Botcon is gonna be a blast. Hope everyone who gets to attend enjoys it!

He's done "a lot" for the fandom? Care to point out the many great things he's done for TF's besides provide a couple of songs to the 86 film?

He has given the fandom a lot of threads to post in and either say "Awesome can not wait" or " Really... still milking it? " :drunk

He's a nice guy...but that doesn't change the fact that he's also kind of sad. The one weekend a year he gets to feel like a rock star is when he's surrounded by chubby mid-30s white guys and plastic transforming robots, all due to a song that didn't get used in a mostly-forgotten Sylvester Stallone movie. I've only been to 3 Botcons, but he was starting to feel like art of the scenery by the 3rd one. I wonder if FP calls him, or he calls FP.

Weird Al has done about as much, honestly.*

Artists will take support wherever they can get it. I don't see Stan Bush as a sad case. It's hard to get even his level of success in the venomous shark tank that is the music business without tons of hard work. There's nothing wrong with hanging out with people who recognize your work and getting appreciated. Even if it's for one day in a whole year and the fan base is unconventional. If he's milking it, I believe he's earned his right to do so.

*Nothing against Al, of course. I love Al.
