    Hey Guys,

I'm making a bruticus combiner following the classics universe line and I'm looking for some SS Starscream Heads to Modify into combiner heads (3 in total). Does anyone have or if anyone can make some SS Starscream heads, please PM me. In the past, S_B made the heads but I think he's really swamped right now.

Thanks everyone for both your help and inspirations!

    ***Edit - 12.16.08***
Tried Scratchbuilding to see how if it would work out. Bare in mind - first time. You think it'll work or should I stick with the SS Starscreams?

Thanks Satomiblood for the suggestion on the muzzle. Attached is update.

Well, even with mods I don't see a great, original Bruticus coming from Supreme SS' head. For some reason, I think one of those old 12' Battlestar Galactica Cylon commando heads would look cool for an updated Bruts! I can't remember that far back:p , but I think they made a 12 inch Cylon!:thumb

Seems like it could work. Would you think it's possible to sculpt a bruticus head out of Unicron's? or would you think that's too big. I have unicron heads a plenty, that's why I'm asking.

It's all a matter of preference really. It is generally true that a small(er) head makes a bot look bigger and bulkier, and my feeling is Unicron's may be a bit large. But depending on the molds used (Leader Brawl, Armada Jetfire, etc.) Unicron's head may very well be "in scale". I'll try and find a link for the Cylon, just to give another perspective.

    ***EDIT***Here is the 12" Cylon w/light up eye (ebay auction#) 12034808154 http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1970s-B...yZ158660QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Not quite as cool as I remembered, oh how the decades have clouded my memory!

I tried scratchbuilding a brut head...pictures are attached above. It was my first time. Not my best work, but not the worst thing in the world. Should I use it or would I be better off with Hydrospanning?

I tried, he must be busy these past couple of weeks because he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Looks good for a first sculpt! I think a little apoxie sculpt to smooth some of the angles out it would work well! Hydrospan is great stuff, but a bit pricey, and your off to a good start here. This scratched head looks like it will allow you to fit an led in the head! Just make the eyes out of clear acrylic sheet!:thumbs2:

Not bad. The faceplate should be emphasized a bit more and should be a little longer.

Nice work! I think it turned out nice, especially for your first try. I've been doing a lot of that lately (using existing heads though--and building styrene onto them to create the heads I want--did this most recently with Universe Sideswipe, using a shaved down Sunstreaker head and styrene to build a G1-styled head.......couldn't stand the rabbit ears).

I plan to scratchbuild some heads using styrene in the near future (and possibly some ProCreate putty). I dig what you've done, so I say go with it.

I really like it. It just needs some detailing and it'll scream Bruticus.

that's not too shabby for a scratch build moe.

Some of the Cybertron Transformers have pretty fair size head sculpts, you might be able to mod some of them. I'm currently moding the Tidal Wave head into Motor Master. Also, check out some of the RoadBots, that might help as well.
