I used to do heavy customs for myself all the time. I had a huge gundam collection and one day they all got used for parts. That was like ten years ago.
You guys have guessed most of the parts .

The head is Ripclaw and the armor from an rid Minicon . the hump is also from Ripclaw. The claws are animated BA hooks. The legs are indeed inspired by the Hardhead fan mode. and. ... the hip joints are from TR Blurr.

 

Oh they are cool!!!

Honestly it's dissappointing hasbro DIDN'T make the other half of the decepticon headmasters. (to say nothing of the horrorcons who are awesome)
But they're really missing out.
I know I would go for transformers that turn into crazy looking monsters like this as a kid.
