Does anyone know where I can find some pictures of squaktalk, beastbox, and the merged squakbox?
Let me be more specific. I mean drawings not pictures of the actual toys.
Edit: Damn, ya beat me to it, Abrogate. ;-)
The pics are from the box art, but they're still nice. Or you could try Google Images.
Unfortunately, the last of the cassetticons don't get as much love from the fandom as their earlier brethren.
those 2 are actually my favorite cassettes. I had fond memories of them as a kid and they're the only ones I've bought since rebuilding my collection (although I got a KO Ravage for free)
These two have a special place in my collection as well...when I was younger one of my mom's piano students stole all my casstette Transformers except Squawktalk, Beastbox, Grand Slam, Raindance and my broken Rewind. For years until I got back back into collecting and ebayed all the other cassettes, they were my only ones Fun toys and an awesome concept despite their un-popularity!
THey make me rather happy
I was always in favor of Slamdance, myself, but Squawkbox is still pretty good.
Also, Squawkbox is on the cover of Hearts of Steel #3 in a sketch cover:
Now THATS a cool pic of Squawkbox
How do you guys have them on your shelf?
Together, seperate in beast form, or tape form?
I have mine seperate in beast form... he just looks too funny combined.
Squawkbox is the only G1 cassetticons I have that is still MOC. I love it but there's enough cassettes to keep me busy that I never thought about opening it up.
Mine are combined because I display everything in robot mode.
I have Beastbox inside of Soundwave and Squawktalk in beast mode
Both Squawktalk and Slamdance are combined to save shelf space
I keep all my cassettes in cassette mode laying down in front of SW in player mode, except for Laserbeak, who sits on top of SW in condor mode and Buzzsaw, who's inside SW. Mostly it's to help preserve the joints on Soundwave, Rumble and Frenzy.
This may change after I get the TRU reissue of SW, though.
Edit: Oh, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that loves all of the cassettes. I just wish we had gotten more of them, even if it meant more straight repaints. Soundwave and Blaster can never have enough, IMO.
Oh I loved these guys.. I remember being at y godparent's house and playing in the yard, and under a bush I saw a half lodged piece of purple plastc in the dirt. I scooped it up and cleaned it out and off and behold! My own Beastbox. I was the happiest kid in the world..
I'ma fan of the tapes, and Beastboxx and Squalk Talk are seperate right now, but Raindance and Grandslam (Love that name) are combined right now... Need to dig out Ramhorn for my display, but All my other tapes (Howlback, Garble, Slugfest, Overkill, Laserbeak) are all in bot mode around Soundwave. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the kissplay tapes just to add tehm to the collection.
I have all my tapes ans Soundwave paraphenalia in a nice cosmetics box. Seriously, a box made for holding makeup and stuff.
In there is Soundwave, Blaster, all the US tapes, a KO Soundwave, a KO/Gashapon Laserbeak, a Laserbeak roomerang, all weapons and most of their tech specs. They're not on display all nice and stuff, but just having them in a box is cool IMO.
I can't wait to get the new SW re-release. I don't have ANY of the tapes anymore, and I want. Badly.
