    Fact:

The Fallen is a figure spotlighted in DreamWave comic in 2003 - 2004. I think it was writted by Simon Furman the comic writer who also created the names "Sentinel Prime" and "Primus".

Ehren Kruger copied the Fallen character in Revenge of the Fallen.

    Now:

in DOTM, Sentinel Prime is similar to Ultra Magnus in Dreamwave comic. I have forgotten the title of the Dreamwave comic saga ,, but the Dreamwave plot was this.

Autobots and Decepticons are fighting on earth. Then Shockwave arrives in a ship and takes over the Decepticons. Then Ultra Magnus came to tell the autobots on Earth to surrender. Magnus and Shockwave had 'reconciled' and combined forces for the greater good of Cybertron, and all autobots and cons on cybertron are now united as "Cybertronians". Some of the CYbertronians include triple changers and Wreckers.

Magnus even takes Prime and his troops as prisoners. But in the end, they found that Shockwave was using Magnus for his own agenda, and all hell breaks loose between the Autobots and Decepticons. Before Magnus dies, he asked for forgiveness from Optimus, saying he joined Shockwave only because he wanted peace for Cybertron.

I think Kruger copied part of this story, and instead of using Magnus, he uses Sentinel Prime, since Sentinel prime name was tainted in 'Transformers Animated". That's probably why Ultra Magnus name was seen in an early cast calling sheet.

Either that or he's heavily influenced by that in the sense that Wreckers, Shockwave, Magnus/Sentinel, Autobots working with Decepticons for the greater good of Cybertron appears in the plot.

I think he meant that the Fallen's character was used in the same way from other plots.

That's certainly a plausible theory, but I think "copied" is a strong word, more like "adapted". Of course the Fallen character is related to the DW comic character. That's like saying they also copied Optimus Prime, Megatron, etc.

Back to the point though, it seems like for both ROTF and DOTM elements were combined from the DW comics as well as certain cartoon plots. There's no doubt that the Harvester took some influence from the episode "Changing Gears", while the Fallen and the whole Prime thing was taken from the comics. For DOTM, "Megatron's Master Plan" seems to be the very base for the story, but spiced up with twists from that DW comic. Ultimately, it works pretty well (even if the story was sloppily told in ROTF).

Plus based on the comic adaptation
it seems as if the plot will be taking a few ques from "The Ultimate Doom" as well.

The movies take influence from a variety of Transformers lore and pre-existing media. While each film's plot itself is original, it's bound to have roots in stuff that's come before. We are talking about a toy/cartoon/comic line that's been around for 26 years.

If you wanted to go that route, you could claim every Transformer that appears in the films is a "copy" of an existing character.

Neither is it new for a young boy and a yellow car to meet for...oh forget it.

Actually, thanks to The Fallen's position as a multiversal being, he's the same guy.

He was. But the fact is, he's a Transformers character. Therefore, he's open to being featured in any and all Transformers-related media.

In the future please warn others of spoilers by placing a notice in your thread title.

Also, there's no "copying" or "stealing" going on, if you don't carry over SOME elements from past stories in the history's franchise then you're doing it wrong.

If the movie doesn't take things from older fiction, it's bad.

Added spoiler tags to the OP's post and one that was quoted later. Interesting theory, but folks please be mindful of those who do not want to be spoiled.
