News Post: Machinima’s Transformers: Combiner Wars Episode #1 Out Now
"The 1st episode features Windblade squaring off against Menasor."
Yep, and not much more!
I guess I need to see more before I make an informed judgment. First impression is "what's the point??" The toys came and went, so what is this promoting?
meh. I was hoping for something different. oh well, it was just the first episode.
A 5 minute episode? Really? Sigh... What a letdown.
Why is it region locked? I don't get why, we live in an ages were everyone is connected, what do region locking accomplish?
Guess that's how they'll deal with the large amount pf characters. Also, way to remove any semblance of a threat by combiners,
given that anyone with jets and a sword can easily take one down.
Didn't take much time out of my day, though, so I can't be offended.
Why is this in the Prime / RID section?
Pretty obvious this is similar to vixen in that it's really one episode/movie divided into bite size chunks. Which might seriously hurt the momentum when people want a fuller experience at the out
How did hasbro screw up their own business model?
Step 1: Make Toys
Step 2: Make Cartoon
Step 3: Show Cartoon
Step 4: Put Toys in Stores
Step 5: Profit
None of these toys, except Computron, have been available to buy at a store in over a year. This show should have came out about a year and a half ago.
5 minutes? Geez.
Meh. Computron went out like a bitch and im sorry menasor woulda squashed windy flat. Guess its gonna be like resolute...... Hope they dont just kill arbitraily like resolute did. Lil webisodes that equal about n hour n ten?
I'll be the first naysayer. This SUCKS. It's not eye-melting terrible, sure, but it's a very poor effort from a very large corporation that up until now has given a good faith effort with every Transformers "show." Won't bother harping on the voice acting, since everyone's mentioned it, instead, I can't help but imagine the production room full of H&M and Urban Outfitters (not that I don't also like those brands, I'm just saying the type of people who are trying to milk nerd culture because it's all-of-the-sudden "cool") clad "fans" =faux nerds who think they know what the real "FANS" want. I'm putting the blame squarely on Hasbro here. Getting some mediocre "nerd culture rulezorz OMGZ for the winz" eschewing channel like Machinima to produce this show was quite frankly a naive and poor decision. I'd almost they rather not bother trying to cater specifically to adults, but instead make another good mid-range kid/adult show like Transformers Prime and put it on a channel people watch, for Pete's sake. At a minimum, Discovery Family, at a best-case level Adult Swim or Cartoon Network's primetime slot... I kind of enjoy Robots in Disguise, but it's simple to a fault, so at least a step above that is all we need, come on, Hasbro, you're overthinking it!!!!
Edit: Just talking about this show, I feel like (since they're coming up) in the Olympics when an athlete's just killing it until all the sudden they trip or just loose speed in the last second, and the commentators are just like, "wow... um.. wow. what went wrong? they almost had it, just a few inches from the finish???"
All that hype for a new Transformers G1 series and the pilot is only 5 minutes long? If that's the case they should have posted the entire season like Netflix as opposed to making us wait a week.
Glad I stayed up for this!
SON OF A GENDERBENT RAVAGE!
Hasbro hasn't understood this concept since G1. I don't know how they think they will sell toys to kids without a tie-in show for them to watch. The show is what makes kids want the toys. Then when there is a show, there aren't any toys for it. I understand Hasbro is throwing collectors a bone, but these are very small bones that aren't worth my time.
For those not in the US, I downloaded this two minutes ago to access it. Works fine.
Hola Chrome Extension - US IP Address Proxy
I was going to record and upload the episodes on my youtube account but someone might beat me to it considering I have college this afternoon lol
but yeah install Hola on your browser, watch the episodes and uninstall hola and you should be fine
First point: we've known it was going to be put out in 5 minute chunks for a looooong time. The entire thing will be 45-60 mins, just like GI Joe: Resolute.
Beyond that, I'm unimpressed. Animation is pretty good, but not much else. Even the voice choices (what was up with Menasor?) are mediocre.
Pretty bland, unfortunately.
Animation and voice-work is clunky.
Hm...well that was...interesting.
Let me sleep on it before passing judgment.
