[Spoilers] I think Hasbro's lost it.

Blowing a Supreme class slot for a figure that does not appear in the movie at all. I'm pretty certain now that Ultimate Optimus Prime is just going to be a really expensive shelf warmer. Who else here feels that it's a pity to waste a Supreme class slot for something that lame. I'd rather very much have a Supreme class Driller. While at that, why did they even bother creating that Voyager Mechtech Optimus with all that sloar panels and what not only to not have it shown on screen at all. A Battle Blades retool would have made so much more sense.

I'd rather just have a HA Prime or Prime with his weapons cache.

    Ugh...

Did you ever stop and think maybe, just maybe, Ultimate Prime is just supposed to be a big Optimus toy and not based off anything? Afterall, Optimus sells, and he's a big, gimmicky one at that. I don't think it was ever intended to be based off anything. At most a loose approximation of his jetpack. Besides, they needed to get a toy with his trailer out there, and no kid just wants a box that opens up.

Judging from the amount of Voyager DOTM Primes shelf warming here, I can't agree with your point that Optimus Prime sells. Sides, it's not really difficult to have a trailer than converts or at least stores the Jetwing pack that Prime had in the movie. Just fold it a little here and there or just make it like a Mechtech parts-former, that'll probably make more sense doesn't it? That's not just it, that Ultimate Prime toy created a lot of hype amongst the fans and when it didn't appear at all in the movie I can't help but feel cheated.

    blah blah blah

Hasbro bases alot of there movie toys on concept art and begins production/design LONG before the final looks come out of ILM. My guess would be we had a quick design change at some point and hasbro had time to teak the cyberverse toy and tomy created there add on parts but ultimate was to far along to change,

I could have sworn Optimsu Prime had a flight suit in the movie...

Sure, the toy may not have been "accurate", but consider some of the other toys we got from the movies.

Yeah, there was totally no evidence of Optimus Prime, with a trailer in the film. Why would Hasbro release a toy of such a thing?

Money :D  Not appearing in the movies didn't stop them from releasing tons of Movie toy figures who've never appeared in the movies :)

If they're like Deluxe or Voyagers, it's understandable. This time it's a Supreme Class, and IMO it's like crossing the line a little doesn't it?

It's better than another Ultimate Bumblebee, or RotF Devastator.

BB sucked but devastator was awsome im glad he got that slot no one else even came close to needing it as much as him ( sheer size alone )

and i would agrea with most people if not prime then who the driller bot is probly going to show up as something to go with his playset toys ( which i will bye if it happens )

My question if your down on prime being there who else should be ?

I'm bit let down by Ultimate Prime's absence from the movie, but the figure itself looks great so I will get it when it's available

I do wonder why hasbro made it even though it's not in the movie. Why can't they made the trailer as weapon hanger with some additional play value? I haven't see the movie but is it because the trailer hanger looks boring?

Ummm... Prime did have a trailer in the movie, and it did convert to his flight/jet pack. Am I missing anything?

The kids will love it (if their parents can afford it).

Ultimate Prime is so CLEARLY meant to be his jetpack from the movies, it's just not screen accurate because they needed it to transform inot his trailer. Look at the wings, they're aligned in more or less the same position.

    If there's any odd marketing-to-toy-line mis-match, it's
poor ol' Ironhide, THAT was an off choice for a Leader Class toy
this time around, but as others have said, cool toys iz cool toys.
