Fuck, when you watch it in HD, it's almost... Scary, the way he stares at Airachnid. To be honest, aside from the twist at the end, definitely one of the highlights of the episode. (Or in the series so far, actually.)

 

While I'm not surprised at Unicron's defeat (and what a waste of a good character too), the idea of Optimus Prime losing his memories irritates me. This is something that would sound better as a filler episode, not what I can only assume will be the story arc for season 2. But maybe I'm being too rash. When is the season 2 premiere anyway?

28 November. I agree that killing off Unicron is a waste, but having Optimus lose his memories is actually a fantastic opportunity of retelling what happened in the past, to Cybertron, and how the Bots got to Earth, etc.

Nope, still stays at Optimus.

Also, after Unicron dies, Megs' eyes are back to red, not purple. Hmm. Does Dark Energon lose its abilities after Unicron's apparent "death"?

 

Why? I think it's a very big decision that, to my knowledge, has never been tried before.

 

Agreed, I like the new and different direction, plus, we don't know how long they'll run that story arc, but it should be interesting, or it can be if done correctly. I like driving down that unknown road sometimes...it's more daring, adventurous and a little scary. bwahahahahahaha!!

This fan was just glad they didn't go with the tired "let's kill Optimus" or any of the previous animated stories.  

 

Here's a quick idea, what if the kids asked the Autobots how they could save Optimus, and Ratchet's solution was this.

Ratchet: "I may have known Optimus back when he was Orion Pax, but I never knew him well enough to bring back those memories. There are only two bots who could do that, and one is dead. The other is MIA. I'm afraid our best chance is to try and bring out the Earth side in him. But that could take many cycles and we need to prevent him from being completely brainwashed by Megatron. Bulkhead, it's time to bring Wheeljack back, he may have info on more Autobots."

Jack: "Who are the two who could help Prime?"

Ratchet: "His best friend from his days in the Archives, Jazz. But he was ripped in two by Megatron many stellar cycles ago."

Miko: "And the other?"

Arcee: "Prime's oldest and greatest friend. His precense would no doubt bring back many memories and potentially save Optimus. But we haven't heard from him since we left Cybertron."

Ratchet: "My brother, Ironhide."

It would be a good way to develop more backstory with Jazz and Ironhide and a possible entrance for one of the two if the writers want Jazz instead. I think they wouldn't have two more second in command archetypes with Arcee and Ratchet already.

 

Although I did have a dream a couple of nights ago that Optimus died...

I would too haha! Jazz was alive in WfC (you can see him a couple of times in the Kaon Prison lvl) so I really hope he's still alive and can make an appearance in the show...hopefully as a main character to join the team.

Well of course it will be reversed. Still I have a feeling this will stick for a long time. Perhaps even for the entirety of the second season.

 

28th? That's a Monday and the same day the last 5-part miniseries premiered. Sounds like we're getting another 5-part miniseries! Must be pretty big whatever it is!
