But in all seriousness, the doom and gloom shit gets REALLY old. I think Bay and Co. do a good job of juggling 30 year old fanboy wishes with Paramount's need to make gobs of cash. They may not always hit a home run but I'll take a double or triple any day of the week.

Hum, this could go one of two ways.

The way I think we are all hoping for is that this is the work of the new writer. Bring in some elements of the past to reward the viewers who have stuck with Transformers all these years or as a reward for those who might have only come back to Transformers with the films but still sort of remember the G1 days from their childhood. Perhaps even a bit of showing off by the writer that he really does know his Transformers and isn't just blowing smoke.

The not so good way is that they just pulled the name out of the hat of female names that have been used in Transformers. One of those dreaded in name only characters.

I guess all we can do is cross our fingers that it is the character Carly and not just the name Carly. Well okay and cross our fingers that Rosie can act as well.

Though I'm still not pleased that they once again got in a woman purely based on her looks. It doesn't do this film any good only to attract men who want to see this movie for shallow reasons only (big robots, explosions, pretty women) and not the story. What's so hard about getting a proper actress?

As selfish as it may seem, this is the only way I'll accept Rosie being in the movie. If she's Carly then it'll be alright by me. Just don't let her be a fill in for Megan. I'm a huge believer in actor continuity in films. I absolutely hate when they change actors or actresses from one movie to the next. It just irks the hell out of me. Now with Fox leaving the cast, the prospect of using someone new as Carly in the film just fell into their laps. It practically writes itself into the story.

 

well folks, lets hope he doesnt rape her character in the film like everything he's actually touched in the past 4 years that has anything to do about transformers. im suprised that he actually used something that relates to the actual transformers history. he's still responsible for killing the series and the forthcoming of animated

 

Well said. We can't all get the stories and characters that we want.

When you look at how much of a mess GI Joe was; I'm pretty glad Bay is doing The Transformers movies. I enjoy them.

 

Alright..now I am impressed. FINALLY someone figured out that there was no Mikaela in G1 and are bringing someone in that can play Carly..who was in the G1 series. It's about time!
