still brothers? If so...completely fucking stupid...
When were they ever brothers? Prime and Magnus were called brothers. As were Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, Pounce and Wingspan, Fastlane and Cloudraker, but never in my years have I heard of Prime and Megs being brothers. Ever.
They were indeed brothers in the leaked script. It dates from back in february, so it may have changed. Or not. It's one of those things that only requires 3 lines of dialog to be altered to make that big of a difference, and all during the most spoilerish of scenes, i.e. not the ones we'd see in a trailer. So really, nobody knows.
The idea, in and of itself, makes a little sense. But you may have to go into a completely different methodology of the orgins for it to work.
I think the concept of the idea was discarded........was it ?!!
That and BB's method of 'speaking' were two of the biggest problems I had with the script(though I haven't really read it to avoid spoilers) and two *very* easy things to change. So lets just all hope for the best.
They are lovers now! didn't u hear?
Megatron: "Optimus oh Optimus, where forth art thou?"
Optimus: "'tis the east and Megatron be thy sun!"
Transformers in Love: A Michael Bay film
I believe I remember reading that the concept had been thrown out. Don't quote me on that, though...
The idea, while unconventional (from a TF standpoint)...could work.
Did I forget to mention that my avatar is a leaked storyboard? My bad.
why cant i quit you prime!
They are actually Asian, Lesbian, Sister, Hemaprhodite Lovers now...
bwahaha. That'd be something
Anyway, as far as I know there's no official statement about the whole brother thing being still there or not.
Hmm... I could have sworn that Mr. Murphy said that it had been dropped over on his boards at one point. Or, at least, he had strongly eluded to it having been dropped. And it was one of the easiest things for them to fix too. Just needed to change one or two lines of dialogue where it was mentioned. Won't say what since everyone hasn't read the February script.
Personally, while it creeped me out at first, it occurred to me -once I got over the anger of this not being closer to G1 and grew up- that while it was a very unconventional idea as far as the TF Universe was concerned... that it could actually be plausible and work as a really nice story piece... and would add more depth to the whole battle between Megatron and Optimus. Not to spoil to much -in case it's still there-, but it was basically said that they were twin Primes in a long line of them. So, basically, the Movie Cybertron's Primes were equivalent to the Caesars or Rome or the ancient Kings of Europe.
Still, I'm pretty sure it was said to have been dropped.
ancient kings of europe? hah try living in england then, it still works that way here...
I rather like it.
It's different yes, but not bad different.
Having them be brothers seems like a lame attempt at the whole "Luke, I am your father." bit from Star Wars.....but not as shocking when heard the first time.
