Dude, that rocks. I love the casting of Quinto but the fact that Nimoy's back too...I'm definitely gonna go see this in theaters because I have a good feeling about it.
Yeah, I saw Nemesis in theaters...but I had a BAD feeling about that one.
Sweet, Galvatron's in this one.
It's funny how they say they'll put Shatner in it "if" they can find a place for him. LoL
C'mon, this film...
The poster for the film is really neat. Cool to see the old-school Trek font in a "modernized"-style retro poster.
last I heard the current script is supposed to be the final goodbye from Spock as he meets Kirk before the launch of the Enterprise-B. They sit around and have a conversaion about how they met (which wasnt a good meeting) and how over the course of a adventure became friends (it was the adventures on the Enterprise in later life that they became best friends).
Please say that this is still true! PLEASE get the Shat in there!
I still haven't watched all of Heroes season 1. I know, I know, shame on me. But this casting decision sits well with me. Probably because Zachary Quinto seems better suited for the role than Adrien Brody (remember that rumor?). Nimoy coming back is great too. The fact that he's apparently playing an older Spock is very intriguing.
I really hope they can "find a place" for Shatner. As odd as that sounds, it's probably trickier to get an older Kirk into the movie than an older Spock since Kirk died in Generations 13 years ago. ...Damn, has it been that long? I still remember seeing it in theaters. Twice.
I'll be giving it a chance regurdless of how dubious I am about anyone other then Nimoy and Shat pulling off Spock and Kirk, its not like the franchise can go any further down the toilet and all bets are off on the odd/even rule thanks to Nemesis.
Never been a huge Star Trek fan myself but I liked the original show and cast, this makes the movie watchable for me.
I wonder if Nimoy will sing a song in this one,
I've had that song stuck in my head all day.
Pretty much. I still remember walking out of Nemesis thinking, "Whaaaat? That's it? Damn... "
I walked out thinking it was funny that B+B and the director were saying that it was the TNG version of Wrath of Khan, when in reality it was closer to being the TNG version of Final Frontier.
Its just a shame that the TNG gang didn't get an Undiscovered Country to bail them out before retirement.
That song is very sixties and very lame.....lol. I can't wait to see Nimoy as Spock again.
I don't know what to think about this one...
As a big Trek fan I am a bit miffed at them going back and rebooting things with this movie. Though it could be just what the franchise needs to become a household name again.
I'll definitely go see it, but I will still be skeptical until I see more.
Well, if Spock is in it, perhaps its indeed just a prequel of sorts? There is (to my knowledge) no real canon info on Kirk and Spock long before they served in TOS.
Good choice for a young Spock. It doesn't bother me in the least that TOS is being rebooted. Before my time and although I enjoy the episodes and movies it seems really dated compared with Enterprise (which I was surprised at how much I liked the series).

That's Adam from Season 3 of 24! He was one of the computer geeks at CTU.
As crap as Enterprise was, I still found it more paletable then the contrived sanctimonious bollocks that Voyager inflicted on us for 7 years. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes then watch most of it again.
My wife LOVED Quinto in Heroes. When she saw he was playing Spock her reaction was "Crap, am I going to have to watch a Star Trek movie?"
I think he looks like a good choice.
