I come to this sub forum from time to time to get help from the TF world experts.

I have a kit bash I am working on (specifically Abominus) which one of the Terrorcons (Hun-Grrr) will have a set of spikes going down his back. I can't seem to think of any suitable figures whom have spike I can use.

I want his back to look something like this:

any suggestions or figures in mind that have spikes like this? the kitbash figure is leader/ultra sized, so it would have to be a sort of larger figure

Maybe TM2 Cybershark/RID Sky-byte, what with his tail section and dorsal fins being removable. Energon Sharkticon maybe as well? I can't think of anything else at the moment. All my TFs are packed up from having just moved to a new house.

edit: OH! Beast Machines Hammerstrike maybe?

good suggestions, however hoping for something where I can utilize more than just 2 parts of the entire figure, are there any that come to mind with a set of spikes on them?

What about the Stegosaurus from I think it was BEast Machines, with the plates, they could be shaped to look like spikes...

I have that guy here, they are little too "organic" looking, I think I might resort to some gundam parts. I searched many pics of TFs and haven't found many optional figures.

Sculpting them out of Kneadatite would probably be the best route.
I'd also suggest McFarlane figures, and the organic nature could easily be sculpted/sanded away. The Dragons or Zodiac series would be good sources.

If you're looking for mechanical stuff, try some Zoids. Like a Gojulas Giga or Gorhecks or Gordos. Gojulas Giga would probably be best as he's a very large T-rex type has a ton of fins/spikes and they're relatively large without looking like that of a Stegosaur, which Gorhecks and Gordos are based off of.

    Injector

What about the spikes on the BW Fuzor Injector? You could file down the ends to make them pointed then cut plastic pieces to mke the "webbing" inbetween them.

You might be able to find a Skeleflex set which might work to your advantage.
