So, I always wondered how Spike's voice actor changed his voice for teen Spike vs. adult Spike, and whether it was maturity within his own voice (by growing older). Since the final episodes of S3 and the movie did not air that far apart, it left me somewhat confused. I decided to track down the voice actor Corey Burton himself through his fan page and asked him in an e-mail:

"Hey Corey Burton,
I had a question. The last episode of season 3 and the movie did not air that far apart. Was the maturity in Spike's voice just altering your own? Or was that actual, real change in your voice as you as you grew older.

Thanks! Big fan!"

To my surprise, I actually got a lengthy and detailed response!
