I think it's cool because it doesn't necessarily follow a traditional style you see for Spidey art. The big problem here though is that your image is way too big! Also, I'm not sure where you're going exactly with the pose but at the moment the right arm looks stiff. Cool so far though!

    thanks man. :)

i did it all from memory without looking at any spidey pictures, as i didnt want to be influenced by any other art. hopefully i've managed to add a little of my own style to it. i did look at one pic though after i'd drawn the head and body, for costume reference.

you cant quite see it on this scan but i pencilled in his right arm holding onto a webline, and he's shooting a new one with his left.

Spider-man has one of those cool, simple but effective costumes that you can draw maybe once or twice then remember for the rest of your life. Very cool. This certainly is unique to your style so that's good. I like that it has some thickness to it. Some artists draw Spidey way too friggn skinny for my taste.

i finished it off and painted it up in photoshop. the colouring came out better than i expected, however i rushed the left leg a bit and some of the proportions are off. the feet and legs are all wrong. i guess i should decide on a pose before i start drawing eh?

well this little exercise has given me some confidence to start drawing again at least.
