Spider-Man Joins the FF | Fantastic Four | Comic News | News | Marvel.com
I like the costume Spidey's in but I mean how long will Human Torch really stay dead?
I'm about to ask a question that could very well be taken as ignorant, ill informed, and stupid.
Why does every thing in comics always seem to have to alter the status quo?
Do comics not have straight up, basic, run of the mill quo anymore?
Apologies for any stupidity in the above questions.
This is why I barely pick up any super hero books aside from Invincible Iron Man now. But once Fraction leaves that I plan on dropping that title as well.
I much prefer the Vertigo/Image stuff now. Nothing is sacred and usually those that die remain dead.
Is this the first time Spidey's been a member of the ACTUAL FF? As in not a temporary team or alternate team?
Yes it's the first time, and Johnny will be back in 12 issues when they have the next major issue number milestone and the book goes back to the old numbering. They never showed the body so he's not dead. Not that showing it mean anything. Carnage was taken into space ripped in Half, left there and in the most recent issue Cassidy is apparently alive.
Because status quo is boring. Nobody can die, nobody can be hurt, relationships can't change, etc. etc. Comics have far surpassed that era where it was acceptable to write these jaunty little stories where the villain breaks out of jail, wreaks havoc, gets beat up, and goes back to jail and nothing really changes. There's no drama in it, because you know how it's going to end.
Where the conundrum comes in though, is that the fans always tend to get stuck on certain aspects they like or don't like. When the status quo shifts too far, the readers get taken out of their comfort zone, and they start getting uppity.
It's a no-win situation. Readers want drama and peril and hardships for their heroes to overcome. And yet, they want everything to stay the same.
Well, I guess the new fourth member was destined to be either Spider-Man or Wolverine, so I'm just glad they picked the one that actually has a closer association with the FF.
Since I'm too lazy to look this up on wikipedia myself, is Spider-Man still an Avenger too? I don't pay too much attention to Marvel, but seem to recall him being on at least of the various Avengers teams at some point and don't remember hearing about him leaving.
That is Shocking to me?!?!
Spidey tryed to join them in the first issue of amazing spidey, But he was Denied, But now Spidey officialy JOINS THEM
Well. I can't say I'm surprised, but the art and the costumes are pretty damn cool. The name has a nice ring to it.
I thought they confirmed Cassidy was dead, hence the new girl in the symbiote...
I'm just amused by this cause that 49 year old application Spider-Man put in finally got answered... but in a storyline point he's the only character that could fill the void, the F4 view him as family, which was an aspect of the recent crossover mini I really liked. I dont like the over-extending of another character ala Wolverine and Deadpool, but there's a logic to the choice.
Like the white and black outfit. Very Anti-Venom.
But their colors are only making me think of Moon Knight
Spidey's new costume reminds me alot of Anti-Venom with the colors, but looks pretty good. Not to fond of Thing's new costume though.
Spidey's currently on both the Adjativeless Avengers and the New Avengers, poor Pete's gotta be worn out.
Could be worse Wolverine is on the Avengers, new avengers,xforce,x-men, as well as one or two others. I wish they just kept these characters to one team.
Not bad at all. Personally, I would say if any superhero were to replace an FF member, Spider-man is the most legitimate one. He's been associated with the FF since his first ASM issue.
So the new FF costumes are tweaks of Stormtrooper costumes? I hope they know that thier accuracy will drop by like 90%.
Hey, I see the FF got their own personal Stig!
I totally called that Spidey would join them after "Three", Spiderman is going to as busy as Wolverine with all the teams he is going to be on, FF, Avengers, The Lab.
Like Omegus said it is very amusing since he applied to the FF all those years ago. I can just imagine Reed going okay that's Johnny dead and opening a big pile of applications they received over the years.
So who are the secret members of the Future Foundation?
Separate names with a comma.
