    Hey!

There is a poll for who will win, Spider-man or Transformers at IGN.
So far, Spiderman is up by nearly 50%.

Head on over to there and show Optimus Prime the love.

The poll is on the lower left.

I'm not surprised that Spiderman's winning in this poll.

Honestly Spiderman has 2 great movies on it's belt and a long running comic series.

Transformers as great as the toys and shows are, is a kids line. And the only movie it has under it's belt is from 20+ years ago. And said movie was if you look at it objectively a 90 mins toy commercial.

And the major thing is that Spiderman doesn't have that "It's for kids" stigma to it. Unlike Transformers which will get an instant "Oh you mean the kid's toys" type of comment

    *EDIT*

For what it's worth I voted for Transformers anyway :D

I love the Spider-man movies. I plan on seeing both as well, but we just gotta represent the Transformers.

Yeah, I voted for Spiderman as well. It's kind of difficult to vote for a movie you have no desire to see.

I wouldn't mind a scene with her in a back alley in the rain.

This isn't even a contest..as much as I love Transformers, AND Spider-man...let's face it. The Spider man franchise is of a different caliber. sam Raimi knows how to deliver drama, action, and comedy..and STAY TRUE to the source material, only changing what is necessary to make the story gel and be cohesive...MICHAEL BAY doesn't know how to deliver anything but incoherant drivell(making a love story out of a movie that isn't supposed to be about some little teenie boppers tryin' to get a piece), and change ANYHTING and EVERYTHING just for the sake of change...there is no reason the Transformers had to be changed so drastically in the way they looked...They could have designed these characters in the way of Binaltech and it would have still been "realistic"..haha whatever that means in a movie about 40ft walking, talking, sentient Transformable machines from a distant galaxy...oh yeah, coming here on their own power like asteroids. I'm gonna see both because I've always been a big fan of both Marvel comics and Transformers...lets face it...If Hasbro would have left the Transformer's mythos and comic book rights in the hands of Marvel then we might just have been getting something a little closer to home and more respectful, and more about the TRANSFORMERS. I still can't help but believe given Spider-man's previous success at the box office, and people knowing they can trust these actors/actresses and producers/directors to stay true to source material, that Spider-man will beat out Transformers in total Gross income.

Err....correction...maybe not beat out Transformers in total gross income because Transformer toy sales is what has sustained the product for years. I believe in that sense Transformers will be much more profitable. However I believe it will be a different story at the box office.....but hey...maybe since Hasbro is now the licensed manufacturer of Marvel Toys...they will in turn return the license agreement to Marvel to produce Transformer comics instead of IDW...those Infiltration stories and One shot character studies were not to my liking how they tried to reinvent and change things about the mythos.....THEY JUST NEED TO RETURN THE BRAND TO THE COMIC COMPANY THAT BEGAN IT ALL....THEN MAYBE WHEN/IF WE GET A SEQUEL...IF AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE AND THE STORY IS AS BAD AS THE CHARACTER DESIGNS...MARVEL AND HASBRO CAN PUT THEIR FOOT DOWN FOR THE TRUE FANS....who knows...what am I saying?? Marvel GLADLY sold out X-men just for the sake of the dollar bill and trendy conformists.

Have you seen the trailer for Spider-man 3?
Gwen Stacey in a romance with Peter after Peter and Mary Jane proclaim their love?
Sandman linked to Ben Parker's death?
The design of the Venom symbiote on Peter Parker and Eddie Brock?
    Harry Osbourne's journey?

This one does some pretty major canon twisting if you ask me.

I love the Spider-man character in general and the movies in particular but I posted this thread because this is a Transformers site and the Transformers fans might want to vote.

I don't need the Transformers movie to be the highest grossing film this summer or anything like that. I just need it to be entertaining while keeping the core essence of the Transformers. So far I am pretty hopeful it will.

    EDIT:
[NERD]It's pretty funny, but I just now put this together.
This year the movie Spider-man is getting the black suit and going against (in a manner of speaking) the Transformers movie. 20 plus years ago, the black suited Spider-man appeared in the initial Transformers miniseries.

"Who dares attempt to ensare Megatron!"[/NERD]
