both of these flick broke records upon their release but was panned by critics and fans...but which is better??
ROTF might have giant plot holes and some over the top humor, but I enjoyed the shit out of it. Spidey 3 however, I just kept getting pissed at how they were fucking shit up.
i haven't seen ROTF yet but spidey 3 was so awful it put me off spiderman and i used to be fan and if spidey 4 isn't as good as the first 2 movies then im permanently off spiderman, so ROTF all the way cause i know it wil be good.
Spiderman 3 at least had a chick that fits my criteria for "hot chick"; that being met by Bryce Hot-dang Howard. Other than that, they both sucked equally. I MIGHT have to see ROTF again though, to be sure. I've only seen it once.
Revenge of the Fallen. I went into both films with a whole lot of optimism and excitement that they'd be fun. Spiderman 3 disappointed me so much. I was thinking, 'wow, they so blew this' as I was watching it. Because of Spiderman 3, I tried to temper my optimism for RotF in case it ended up a similar film, but thankfully I enjoyed RotF completely. It's not perfect, but I'm buying RotF as soon as it comes out on DVD and would see it in theatres a second time. Once was enough for me with Spiderman 3. I don't even bother watching part of it on one of the Encore channels I get; it just brings up bad memories of failed potential and incredible disappointment.
Oh crap, I just clicked that ROTF is the 2nd film, which I haven't seen, sorry, my vote for SPM3 is based on TF1. My apologies. Strike me from the record.
and don't forget, they made Sandman a pussy and made venom's voice sound like....*shivers*.. a human...
I liked Sandman's presentation. He wasn't a pussy. He went all giant and killed him some cops 'n' stuff. He was a sentimental father trying to save his daughter.
Didn't mind Sandman's arc. I would have liked to see Venom as the huge muscular bulk from the books, but no biggie. Still, what reference do we have that his voice wasn't more human? You can't tell from the comic books, and the animated shows mean squat, as evidenced by Doc Ock's German accent being omitted from the film as well.
Sandman felt like a ripoff of what they did with Dr. Octopus in the second film (not a true villain, just a misguided person on the wrong path/in the wrong place at the wrong time who redeems himself in the end). I don't have anything against that presentation, but going back to the well so soon for the third film was kind of annoying for me. Maybe if Thomas Hayden Church had gotten more screen time, but Sam Raimi seemed focused on the special effects possibilities more than 'my interpretation of Sandman.'
Well, I think even the haters of ROTF (who've actually seen it anyways..) can say ROTF is better, haha. But I absolutely loved ROTF.
ROTF was disappointing. Spider-man 3 is one of the most unbearably bad movies I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. Two hours of dogs humping is more bearable than Emo Parker and friends. Honestly, I think that Spider-man 3 and other big-budget fare (Wolverine, and Fantastic Four 1 & 2 for example) have really shortened the leash on which critics review these films.
Yeah I know. I thought omg what did they do to him voice although it did sound cool. Anyone seen Sepctacular Spider-man Venom?
