Hi there USA people, just wondering if you had any experience with how long it generally takes to go from touch down on a domestic flight to leaving the airport with all your baggage. I'm sure it's a little bit airport dependant, but just looking for an estimate. I ask because I'm lining up my return flight from Botcon, currently the latest flight out of Orlando will land in Indianapolis and leave me 30 minutes to get on board the last shuttle bus of the night to my final destination. I am concerned that this will probably be a bit tight and I might miss the bus.

My last flight into the new IND airport was very rapid from wheels down to out the door. The longest delay was waiting on luggage. I would venture that the normal variation in actual flight landings could make a bigger difference.

My only other question would be what is your final destination? If within the city a cab ride wouldn't be PAINFUL, though outside of that it would be.

It varies but things usually go as planned.
Have a plan B tho just in case, airports are so damn unpredictable.
Hope it's all a smooth trip brutha.

Bloomington, which makes getting a cab impossible really.

I can catch an earlier flight but it means I'll miss most of the Sunday Botcon activities. A shame but it may be better than getting stuck at the airport overnight.

That seems a bit too short to chance if a cab isn't possible as a backup. Even with a flight that was on time, waiting for at the baggage pickup and catching a bus would require everything to be perfect to meet your timeframe.

only thing i could suggest it to ship everything back from Botcon that way you can skip the baggage claim and run like a person possessed for the bus.

Well, I think that we have one or two people going to BotCon from Bloomington that may be able to assist you, you know, worse comes to worse.

I'm pretty sure that's not the answer she's looking for.

I think Aaron's idea is pretty good. You would just have to make sure you hook up with those people. Or just power walk right off the plane and don't stop until you've got on the bus, lol.

Biggest issue is that while you can get right off the airplane, if you have any checked baggage you have to wait at the luggage carousel. I've had 2 minute waits before, and I've had 45 minute waits before. If one then it's cake, if the other then you're boned.

I asked the shuttle place and they said I should be OK, recommended I call the office once I land and they'll let the driver know I'm on the way and they might be able to wait a few minutes if there are delays. Worst case scenario I'll stay the night in a local motel and get the first morning shuttle.

In a worst case scenario, I can assist. I live in Terre Haute, and can easily hop on I-70 and be at the airport in about an hour. Seriously, I'd be more than willing to help another TF Fan, just PM me and let me know.

I'm not going to Botcon myself, instead I'm taking the cheaper alternative and going to Slag-a-con. It will be October 9th in Chesterfield, IN (near Muncie). Transformers & robots, a non-official fan convention - Slagacon for more information.
