I was thinking about this last night and wondered how it would be received by the general fandom.

We all know that there will be Transforming toys for the movie. OP, Bumble bee – etc. But what about the humans in the story? Should Hasbro have toys for Spike, Carley, Spark Plug, or even Bernie Mack?

    What size? Articulation? Your thoughts?

Sure, they can make as many as they want, as big or small as they want, I don't mind.

I won't be buying the human figs, so I don't really care what they do.

    T.J.:
Humans would be neat if they could interact with the
TFs...but their scale might be rather small. Perhaps a
'Kicker vs. High Wire' type set could be done, to preserve
    the 'transforming' feature.

...hey, I've got a truly horrendous idea. It might be awful
    enough to interest Takaratomy...

How about a Sam figure that transforms into Carly?

    :D  :D

Add some electronics and have it happen automatically when dunked into cold water.

They could release it in TF-Kiss with 'Akane', and promptly get sued. :)

Yes. There should be a Bernie Mack toy, 4 feet tall, with two joints of articulation (one on each eyelid).

Of course there will be toys of the humans.

I know I'll be first in line for the Megan Fox action figure so I can put her in lewd poses. Yep. Just telling it how it is.

Maybe Mask size figures- I would love a human figure to interact with the Transformers.
It would really affect the size of the transformers though.
Would any one care if the general size of the toys increases?

Hasbro propably has Toybiz working on Marvel Legends styled figures, both in the 6 inch and 1,5 inch scale (so that they can interact with Alternator-sized Transformers).

They'll make human figures. And I will promptly shove them aside to buy actual Transformers.

    Speculating is fun!

Did you buy the Kicker fig?

What happens when Spike is packaged w/ bumblebee? Your plan will be thwarted....

I'm sure it will happen. And they will come with oversized missile launchers, as not seen in movie...

    Wait, there's a Human movie coming out???

Kidding!!! I think that the only way to have humans in the Transformers movie toy line and have them NOT be shelf warmers would be to have them to scale with the mass release Transformers(i.e., whatever is most widely marketed, for the kids). The kids who go see this movie will be the ones who will use that "gimmick", to re-inact scenes. (Humans as the main gimmick in a Transfomers line WOULD rock, 'though, especially if you worked in Targetmasters, Powermasters, Headmasters, and G.I. Joe characters.)

I bought the deluxe sixed Highwire. Some GI Joe came with it, I think. It's at the bottom of a storage bin with the Quintesson and about 15 Energon repaints.

If humans are packed in with an actual Transformer, that's fine. I doubt Hasbro will be successful in selling standalone humans, without some TF pack-in.

They'll make figures that can interact with the regular-sized TFs. Then, there will be mini figures for the non-transforming Matchbox sized TFs. Then there will be the non-transforming 2-foot vinyl Bumblebee robot with Spike. Then there will be the PEZ dispensers of every character, the lunchboxes, the shoes, the napkins, the party invites, the breakfast cereal, the Pokemon tie-in, the flamethrower, the toilet paper and anything else the movie people can think of.

...and they'll stay on the shelf for the next 16 months...just like Spiderman, Batman, Spiderman 2 and Superman...except in upstate NY and Europe, where we will all receive beautiful case-fresh displays filled with Energon Ironhide.

I wonder if we'll get a line of "Action Masters"-ish human figures, as in a movie human character action figure with a little transforming buddy or accessory (something to do with those transforming X-boxes and electronic gear mentioned in the leaked script)

They will make human figures for sure! The case assortment will be something like 3 humans for every 1 Transformer. I can see the pegs warming up already!

Also I want to see human figures just so the poor completionists HAVE no choice but to buy them.

I wouldn't mind them if the figures came with a transforming exosuit like in that one Armada manga miniseries.
