If we are truly at the end of TFA, let's talk about remolds and repaints that FP can do in future years using the available TFA molds.

The easy ones:
1 - Cliffjumper with new head on DLX Bumblebee
2 - Wasp with new head on DLX Bumblebot  
3 - Ironhide with new head on DLX Ratchet
4 - Nemesis Prime / Scourge using one of the OP figures repainted
5 - Ultra Magnus using one of the OP figures repainted
6 - Soundwave repainted into Blaster
7 - Swindle repainted in G2 colors
8 - 'Attendee exclusive' Ricochet repaint of Jazz

The midrange ones (more to produce or more work to manage):
1 - Grimlock repainted into Dinobot
2 - Grimlock repainted into Overkill
3 - Grimlock repainted into Beast Wars Grimlock colors
4 - Snarl with new head as Slag
5 - Megatron (one of the figures) repainted as Galvatron
6 - Swoop repainted into Decepticon Divebomb

The tough ones
1 - Lockdown repainted as the General Lee (ok, so this won't happen, but I can dream right?   )
2 - BA repainted in Transmetal colors
3 - Blitzwing repainted in true G1 colors
4 - Ravage electric drums, keyboard, or select another instrument
5 - Arcee repainted into Chromia, Moonracer, etc.
6 - Jetfire / Jetstorm repainted in G1 and BM colors respectively
7 - Any Voyager class Starscream figure repainted as another G1 seeker (except for Sunstorm and Skywarp)

Good news is that Shockwave has already been done in G1 colors.

Any other ideas?

 

At this point, I think FunPub may be the only way we'll ever get Arcee, Electrostatic Soundwave and Hydrodive Bumblebee  

 

Meh, the only ones that make any remote sense imo would be to complete the Seeker clones in Voyager size (assuming Hasbro doesn't do it), maybe do G1 repaints of Starscream & Prowl for novelty value, repaint/remold Ratchet into Ironhide, and repaint/remold Deluxe BB into Wasp... minus the siren. I didn't list BB getting repainted into Cliffjumper because I actually like the Activators version as well as the idea that Cliffy is smaller as opposed to just (and still) being a red clone.

The great thing about the Animated figures is that they're so unique. The bad thing, though, is that none of the molds really lend themselves to making easy repaints into other characters.

More than anything, I would like to see BotCon eventually fill the Alternators character gaps since it doesn't seem like Hasbro gives a shit. But that's a completely different thread, so I won't get into it here...

 

YES! I wanna Animated Voyager Seeker army! Femmescream and Ramjet and Thundercracker please! Hey, why not throw in a Dirge while you are at it?

They must do a Wasp. I donno about Ironhide since it may still come out...maybe... Glyph from Deluxe BB would be interesting too. Though she wouldn't have the femme-look.

 

How about Ghost Starscream? Using clear plastic like they did for Stealth Lockdown.

Yep. And Blackout. Everyone keeps saying Animated will run through 2009 but I ain't holding my breath.

As for con exclusives, I want to see the following show characters for sure:

1. Starscream clones (from Starscream Voyager)
2. Ironhide (from Cybertron Ratchet Deluxe)
3. Ironhide variant w/"metal" finish (from "Transwarped") as attendee exclusive!
4. Cliffjumper (from Bumblebee Voyager)
5. Wasp (with new head) (from Bumblebee Voyager)

Those are the most obvious, and therefore the biggest glaring omissions in the line right now, based on available molds.

Aside from that, I'd be interested in seeing "new" characters like heretofore unknown Elite Guard warriors, council members, etc.

I don't care what part of the country BotCon is in. If they make an Animated set with the above figures, I will find a way to get there. I'm done with all the A/E/C repaints. Unfortunately, my guess is the earliest we'd see an Animated set would be 2011.

Besides Seekers, Wasp, and Cliffjumper...

One of the things I was hoping for was a complete update of the '86 movie Autobots. We're so close, especially since Legends Wheelie can fit in a pinch. Hell, 3/4 of the movie Dinobots got updates.

If the Rodimus mold has been made (big if) then all we need is Kup and Springer. Kup probably won't get made just to keep him from exclusive sets back to back, and I wouldn't know what Animated mold to use anyway. But you could get Springer from Sentinel with good paint apps, a new head, and a sword instead of a lance.

The Arcee mold lends itself to a plethora of fangasm repaints - but Elita-1 is the one I'd want from the show.

Wreck-gar, Waspinator, BA, and Lockdown seem too character specific to rework. Could you get a Dai Atlas out of Blurr?

In a pinch, I guess you could get Hound out of Swindle and Blaster out of Soundwave with new head molds...though I'm not as enthused about those ideas.

Oh, and Cy-kill from Oil Slick. *ducks and runs*

 

Where's the love for Cy-kill? We got stuck with Bugbite. At least Cy-kill is cool!

I'd also like Jazz repainted into a Stunticon, maybe. Jazz was disguised as one of them in G1 once, wasn't he? It was either Deadend or Breakdown. Either would be good.

And what about Swoop into Terrorsaur? Waspinator needs his homeboy to chill with.

I'd like to see how the Jet Twins look painted in a more cohesive color scheme...something where the colors on both models overlapped. I think Safeguard as a figure is a neat concept, but the colors put me off for display.

A Decepticon set with shared colors and new head molds would be interesting. Don't know who they'd be, though.

Bumble bee as mold with a new head as Glyph

 

The only Decepticons I can think of who'd work with that would be Pounce and Wingspan, but their alt modes don't really work with that.

Maybe the Autobot clones? Or Rac 'n Ruin?

 

These two. For Pete's sake, these two. Appealing, realistic and easy-to-make projects.

I wish we'd seen any and all of the Stunticons updated for Animated.

That would work. I don't own that mold so I totally forgot about it.

Oh man, a Jetstorm and Jetfire repaint/retool as Darkwing and Dreadwind would be amazing. I'd buy the hell out of that in a heartbeat.

 

They just did Dreadwind as an exclusive 2 years ago, and Darkwind just came out. They'd probably want to repaint them as something that hasn't been done in a while.
