    Hi Guys,

So a lot of us have been orphaned about the news that Planet X stop the develop of Trypty.

    But...and i say but...

Maybe a 3p that just now show a white titan is work on it.

So stay tuned for news, photo and all...

    PS

Maybe 4 mode, beast, base, starship and "humanoid" mode.

well the MT site does say "City Bot Series"...its only logical. if they do make a trypticon in a matching G1 aesthetic the same way they did metroplex...i might have to buy both. what i really would like though is if hastak made a trypticon to stand opposite titan metroplex.

A whole series DOES sound compelling. If 'Utopia' was just a one shot city-bot I would pass, but a whole series might get my attention.

I hope they don't let the sales of Metroplex impact the production of Trypticon. I am a little concerned that the Metroplex market is partially satisfied with the Hasbro version. However, we have no Trypticon anywhere in sight and this would probably sell better than the Metroplex.

Honestly, I will probably pass on the Metroplex myself unless we see more of this figure. I don't need another Metroplex unless I have a Trypitcon that matches up well with him.

Damn, that's cool, but any plans at all for this un-named company that likes to make toys and is FP's Japan counterpart to make an Omega Supreme as nice as their nice new white titan that is like a Metro city??? ;)

Uncertain on if I'd want Metroplex, but Trypticon?

If they announced they were doing him too that might help sell Metroplex on account of having the set of two cities. It'd make it easier to swallow buying Metroplex for sure.

I wouldn't mind Trypticon at all. It makes since now why they went with Metroplex first: to establish their own scale for the city bots. $400 isn't too outlandish given Giant was approximately $350 when first released.

Oh man don't even joke about a potential MT Tryp. I love their metro but god if they did Trypticon I'd have to buy at least three of him. :lol

Well, any 3P Trypticon that gets announced will definitely have my attention.

Now... am I seeing references to Maketoys doing Metroplex? When did that get announced/implied/teased? I must be living in a cave (or the Feral Rex thread)...

That would be the "Maketoys Utopia Not-Metroplex" thread.

Makes MT leading off with Plex even less sound business. $400 toys are a huge commitment even for us 3P junkies and that's the money for the next 4/5 Fansproject toys ( as an example) and having a perfectly serviceable Plex already I don't need another, even if it is nice.

Planet X's Genesis should clue people in to how hard it is to make highest-end project work when the potential market is vanishingly small and just because MT are a bigger outfit they won't be immune to economics.

Make Trypticon and they might come.......make Plex and bar a few, they probably won't.

I've seen both dalianjj and ARAFAT mention an MP Omega Supreme. With that in mind, he would be huge, so a Trypticon that I'd be interested in would need to be bigger than titan size.

If Maketoys' intention is to do all of the major city bots, then they should have done Trypticon first and leave Metroplex for last. Seems like common sense to me.
