aka the band from the 1986 movie nobody talks about....lately i got ahold (not legally haha) of the 1986 movie soundtrack and i have been listening to "Hunger" (aka the song from the sharkitcon battle). their other song "nothin gonna stand in our way" is from the scene when hot rod and kup are underwater"....now i hear everybody talk about the music from the movie, but really i only hear about "Dare to be stupid", the instrumentals, and Stan bush.....is it just not well known or something? cause hunger easily after truely listening to it became my fave song from that movie

spectre general is actually kick axe, but they used a different name for contract purposes (me thinks).

the two songs are covers of Hunger by King Kobra and Nothing's gonna stand in our way by John Farnham.

haha just interesting tidbits without answering your questions. I think the fanfare for the Touch comes from the visual association of Prime takin' down 'Cons. Dare to Be stupid can be explained by big name Weird Al. Not sure about the others.

I personally love the Specter General tunes and think they scream 80s more than the others, esp from a metal hair band, know what I'm saying?

The thing is The Touch and Dare to be stupid and to a lesser degree the main theme over shadow the rest of the soundtrack.

The whole thing is an 80s master piece of rock!

Kick Axe...great band name, but there was no way Kick Axe was gonna be credited as Kick Axe on the TF soundtrack.

    Kick Axe kick ass

Although the Theme Tune is the best song on that soundtrack. And the best version of a Transformers Theme Tune ever!

(I love Phat Planet which was used for Beast Machines, but that wasn't really a proper theme tune, just an appropriated ace song)

Yeah, Kick Axe changed their name as someone thought it would upset the kiddies. Good job they sidestepped that landmine with the rest of the film huh?!

But I do agree - the entire soundtrack is just incredible. Probably the most listened to CD in my collection, including when I first got it on cassette back in the '80's. Dare is my favourite though.

Hmm I didn't like the rock songs in the movie, except for the main theme. I especially cannot understand why everyone likes "the touch".

Great info on the band...I never really researched it but it's great to find out. The songs are totally cheesy but cheese is the greatest thing ever invented so it automatically makes those songs rawk :D

Thanks to all these threads about the 80's movie I think I'll be listening to my soundtrack tonight....

Those two are actually my favorite themes from the movie. Nothing's gonna stand in our way really spoke of the optimism of the 80's, and it's still a good cheer up song to listen to. Hunger well...I have to be careful not to listen to it while driving.
