Well, dang. Sucks that they didn't find what they were looking for, but reverification of the old stuff is always interesting.
Wonder what'll happen if the folks running the LHC can't find the Higgs boson.
It will make a black hole and destroy us all!!!
My particle physics prof actually said that that would be more exciting as people can then go ahead and dream up new and crazy theories as they please, and get to publish lots of papers.
I had stop and fantasize about how incomprehensibly fast that is...my system clock hangs it's head in shame.
Tenure for everyone! DWAAHAHAHAHA but isn't the LHC only at the lower end of the possible energies for the Higgs? I think I recall reading that somewheres. There could still be a Higgs and the LHC just doesn't have the juice to find it. Possibly.
Does this explain why my sedentary co-worker is always late to work?
