    folkArt acrylic paints:
    metallic silver
    metallic sequent black
    metallic bright red
    cobalt blue

it's the cheaper alternative when you're on a budget.

plus I bought some Mod Podge clear acrylic sealer but I haven't used it yet on any of my figures. so I don't know about the results yet.

Anyone else have ground clearance issues with this guy in alt mode?

On mine, the head is scraping the ground. I don't remember it ever doing that before, so I'm wondering if maybe the gears got misaligned or something.

Does anyone else have that issue? Or can you confirm that your head doesn't scrape the ground at all?

Mine is close, but does not touch the ground. Same on the United one.

It's been a while since I've had him out of the bin, but I feel like I had that same issue, too. I wasn't sure if it was something I did wrong or what the case was.

Nope. I've had this guy (great update to my favorite G1 Autobot character!!! Love him!!!) since his initial release (2009, 2010?) and he still has no clearance issues to this day. Recently got the G2 repaint (this summer) and no issues there either!

WOW. Just that simple headswap makes the POTP toy so much more dynamic. Thanks for posting!

    Necro thread here!

Did anybody ever create a sheet of water slide decals for this guy? I have the Reprolabels, but they're curling & peeling, as stickers tend to do after a while.

I'd love to make this guy look good permanently! Let me know if anyone ever did that.

Doubtful, it’s a great toy with an excellent deco 10 years on. I don’t know about RTS, but I doubt the prices on United Jazz are gonna fall.

Anyone have a problem with the gears of their RTS/United's automorph? I feel like mine's misaligned so it ends up more angled than it should.
Also, if I'm having trouble pulling the legs from the clear canopy tabs to the point I need a lot of force, do you recommend trimming the tabs? Does anyone else have that problem

First pic is the canopy as is.
Second is me pushing it down to try to get it to the angle I see most RTS/United Jazz figures
Otherwise, I don't regret getting this guy one bit. THIS is the CHUG Jazz I wanted!

I know this figure is old as hell but I'm just curious how it stacks up to todays figures?

Still phenomenal. Feels great, has an excellent sculpt. Durable and well built, much better than the ss86 one

The only thing that it lacks, that seems to have become common post Combiner Wars/Titans Return/Power of the Primes is ankle tilts.

    Otherwise it's great.

I miss this era of modernised characters.

It's a very nice toy overall, though the Takara version has much better colors overall, with a more solid, whiter white. I feel its a tiny bit overrated though, if I were to get nitpicky.
    * Robot mode is on the tall side, even relative to some other car-bots of the same era.
    * Legs are kind of funky in proportion with a lot of hollowness viewed from behind, giving a ditigrade/hoof-like impression.
    * Car hood chest does NOT lock down in robot mode, flips up easily when an arm is moved, and seems to resist all my attempts to stiffen up that joint.
    * Face sculpt is a Judge Dredd or Jhiaxus level of grumpy, which feels a bit out of character for Jazz IMO.

I find myself preferring the SS86 Jazz. I don't consider it a better toy, but it meets more of what I personally want out a Jazz toy.

Despite having bought the more cartoon accurate WFC/SS86 version of basically every S1 to S3 character, this is still the Jazz on my shelf. The SS86 one just didn't appeal to me, I think its proportions are a bit too funky even in relation to the character model. The RTS/United version, while not being accurate to the cartoon, feels like a modern interpretation of the original toy, which I was fond of as a kid, and especially of the illustration on the box.

Absolutely destroys most modern figures (it’d probably be a “voyager’ in todays paradigm), but yes if you can find the Takara deco it is much better.

OR there’s also the G2-esque version that was released in the one gift set that came out a little over a decade ago

Really wish I’d grabbed that when it was cheap!

here’s also the Stepper version, which has, for my money, the best paint job that’s ever been put on a modern Transformer.
