Since I skipped the first PM Prime and 'Magnus Prime' ended up being Ginrai instead of a Delta Magnus/Powered Convey colored PM Prime I'm actually kinda glad they used this version of the mold (for variety)

OBSESSED. So glad the price is basically the same as the normal version!

I kinda don't get what you mean, primalxconvoy! It's half the price of the Siege on Cybertron box 'cos, as part of the box, it's half the value ($100 = $45 Leader, $25 Voyager $15 Deluxe, $10 Legends, $5 Titan Master)! We pay higher prices for Takara 'cos they're imported, and 'cos they've got nicer paint (not just 'COS they're Takara!). This has the nicer paint, is an *exclusive,* doesn't have to be imported, and costs the equivalent, or within $5, of the mainline toy it's a repaint of! How is that too expensive? (Also, it's a cross-promotion *AND* convention exclusive; don't you think the price will go *UP?*)

    Truth.

I'm happier now more than ever that I skipped the original PM Prime release. This black & gold deco is superior, IMO, and the Seige on Cybertron & TT Mall exclusive God Ginrai will fulfill my Ginrai needs.

It truly is a special time to be a Transformers fan.

That's good to know. I might want one, then. I still hope a proper Nucleon Quest version comes out, though.

When you think about it though, the Hasbro version is kind of more suited for Nucleon Quest. The Nucleon removed his ability to transform, somewhat (combine with Power Bomber), and Hi-Q became a Headmaster (which then created a mental link with Prime, causing Hi-Q to go insane).

AND then there is no pressure to buy a black Power Bomber.

Eh, while neat for some people, I am willing yo be patient enough to wait for an official Takaratomy Legends Nucleon Quest Ginrai release..

Nucleon quest convoy could still combine with godbomber as far as I'm aware, they just didn't release a black one to go with him. Also since when was hi-q ever a headmaster? Nucleon quest convoy had absolutely no mold changes from the Ginrai version of the mold

I liked it from the getgo already.

I think the robotmode pic pops a bit more with the teal, gold and black. The decent price helps too of course.

I think I said something like "I need to see this in robot mode before I decide on it", and now...I'll probably try for it. I was worried there may be a lot of gold accents in robot mode, and it's actually looking to be pretty tame.

From a toy perspective, yes. However, at the time Nucleon Quest was released, it was off Optimus Prime, not Ginrai. At that time, Hasbro hadn't released our mentioned Apex, so the toy reflected Powermaster Prime, which, at that time's canon, didn't combine with anything else.

As for Hi-Q, I'm referring to the comics, where Hi-Q went mad and eventually merged with Optimus. I think it's easier to imagine a Headmaster becoming more mentally unstable and "becoming" their partner, than for a Powermaster to, right?

Thus, if we consider those two things, having a Headmaster version of Powermaster Optimus that got affected by Nucleon to remove part of his transformation and to change a Powermaster into a Headmaster isn't such a strange idea. Perhaps the Powermaster ability saved must of Prime's transformation powers, but merged his cab with his trailer and gimped his combination ports for Apex? The resulting power contamination with Nucleon was too much for Hi-Q's engine to process, resulting in him either mutating into, or being changed into a Headmaster (to save his life)?

It's still not great. Only about three colours of paint. I think it's the nice box, the way the colours work and the presumably low price that swayed them over?

I was always into it, and I'm not mad that they did not do more with the colors, considering who the colors came to be.
