So...we've seen picture of jazz for a while now. And every time I look at his car mode it's looks...wrong. Something how the plastic looks. It just look really cheap or something....

Anyways. I grabbed jazz yesterday and holy hell....one of the best figure i have.
    (His got a waist!)
Jazz is amazing but his white plastic still looks (not feels) cheap and weird looking.

Am i the only one who thinks this?

There's nothing wrong with the plastic, he just didn't have a lot of paint aps in the budget

Jazz is one of my favorite figures - the plastic is very bright but doesn't feel cheap to me.

    Well, it isn't.

But then again white is one of those colours.

I thought it looked cheap too. Not just the white plastic, but how it looked with all black wheels really made a bad combination. It's the only figure I opted to get the United version of instead.

It's a great mold and it deserves to look its best. So I went with United as well. Most of my Classics are the Henkei versions, and it would have looked wrong for Jazz to look cheap next to the likes of Sunstreaker and Smokescreen.

The plastic color on special ops jazz really bugged me. I wouldn't say it looks "cheap", as much as it looks "wrong".

But I'm impatient and cheap so I went with Generations anyway.

United Jazz is impossible to find now. I think I'll just to get the RTS and break out the paints.

Unless, of course, maybe perhaps someone here may possibly have an idea about where I might find one maybe?

He had plenty, they just went into his stripes.

If the choice came down to detail work, or Jazz's trademark stripes, which would you prefer they skimp on?

I personally didn't care for the RtS Jazz, I had him for a while but ended up selling him to upgrade to the United version. Though the RtS Jazz's plastic wasn't "cheap" feeling, the look sure was. I didn't care for the off-white or "pre-yellowed" plastic, the unpainted wheels and missing paint apps when next to my Henkei Classics. With RtS/Generations vs United, in most instances I give the nod to Hasbro over TakaraTomy, but as with Drift the Hasbro white is just unacceptable to me.

I have both RTS and United versions and happy with both. My son uses the RTS version and don't give a damn about the shade of white or paint app detail to him. It's just another TF for him to go "pew pew pew!" with.

I have both. I prefer the United as it looks nicer.

The toy itself is art, but the back is lacking some paint. It's bearable.

I seriously recommend getting the United version. The white is especially gleaming as compared to the Hasbro version, which somehow had a yellowish tint to it.

Plus, it came with more painted detailings...

But the pricing scares me though. :p

I'd like to paint mine white. I'm just trying to figure out how to recreate the 4 on his doors and the stripe around the wheel well. I'm not a good enough painter to recreate those by hand, and the new repro label doesn't include either of them. I wonder if the reprolabels for g1 Jazz or Alt jazz would fit ok?

g1 maybe, but alt, not a chance the wheels are bigger on rts than g1, so the stickers might have to be stretched though

Jazz just needs a lot more paint apps thats why the figure looks cheap imo.
