nice to see they have their priorities in check....
Progress is good, but destroying that for a parking lot is utterly stupid.
Eso es cojo.
Oh Lord... I think I want to go into the corner and cry right now.
Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me...
Hey, I have an idea, why not knock down Pompeii and put in a mini-mall? Those nasty old buildings and human remains are just taking up valuable space! Or why not take down the Parthenon? It's already broken anyway! And what are the pyramids really good for in the long run?
A McDonald's or Starbucks would be perfect there...
Good, I'm glad they did that. History never taught us anything. Yay Spain! Hooray for breaking stuff!
Too bad we don't have those old-school gladiator games anymore to show our discontent.
THOSE MOTHA F***AS!!!!!
I dont know what else to say, I really, really hate people in general now, I hope they didnt forget to put a welfare office, and a Wal-Mart right next to it. Just like in Mexico, minus the welfare office of course.
Wow, all that for a stupid car park?
This is completely inexuseable
While I do think that it is somewhat stupid that it was replaced with a car park, it still isn't all that bad. We learned a bunch about what happened in the past, it has been recorded. It would have been covered up again eventually anyways. That is how archeology works. They do a dig, get the info, then cover it all back up again. If they didn't, the Middle East would just be one big block of holes. While it is always sad to see something torn down, the world moves on, whether we like it to or not.
I think I'll go to a museum there and piss on the exhibits... let's see what he says then...
I feel this way the longer I am alive.

yeah it's pretty dumb, but at the same time you need to think about what was really lost. no one ever would have known it was there and nothing would ever have changed. i mean i love history and i'm all for ancient ruins and stuff, but at the same time, you could also consider archaeologists the scientific equivalent of a really huge packrat who can't bear to throw anything out. but yeah, i would have probably just built the parking lot a couple blocks away instead.
