Do you guys like when you can see Soundwave's nose between his mouthplate and visor(ex:Titans Return), or when they're directly connected(ex:WFC/FoC)?

I never thought about it, but I have to say directly connected. I didn’t even like it when IDW showed that it was just a faceplate/mask. I’m okay with that for Prime in the comics, but not Soundwave.

Just personal preferences but for Soundwave I think the less he has for emotional expression the better so no nose.

It's for these reasons why I think the show Transformers Prime did Soundwave so well as he was a sinister and mysterious blank slate which forces everyone to judge him on his actions Whilst his true motivations remain ambiguous.

I also think these reasons are why IDW with ex rid are currently doing a rubbish take on him as him being vocal and honest about his motivations just makes him another well meaning but misguided Decepticon leader. I know some like current IDW soundwave but to me he is pretty bland and not very Soundwave.

Yeah. The way he's gone in the IDW Hasbroverse is not how he should be. His motivation should be what what is best for him, not the overall good. Very few of the fiction take that aspect of his Tech Specs into account. Plus I have a hard time reading his dialogue in his traditional voice.

It doesn't really matter to me that much. But I do think I prefer the idea of his entire face being covered in a mask.

I kind of agree. On one hand I think he's one of the better characters in the comic, on the other I feel like he has been depicted as too nice/too honest with his motivations. His sudden epiphany that humans are equal to Transformers was a little much for me. Especially when his most interesting quality was the sort of hypocrisy present in his belief in the cause and his belief that drones and organics do not deserve to be treated equally. I like the idea of a blackmailing, intelligent, Soundwave with a focus on self-preservation, who's better qualities exist in the subtle nuances of his decisions and reactions. I'm not against a Soundwave that thinks of others first, but I agree that I wish they held back on him somewhat. I'm not against his dialogue, though, as through comics or any visual medium, you can't really rely on vocal ticks to define your characters.

I prefer without the nose, honestly. Of course, my favorite Soundwave is actually Prime Soundwave, who doesn't have a face...

Directly connected/no visible nose. I like to think that Soundwave's face dosnt move/emote when he talks, making him something of an enigma when it comes to emotions and motivations.
