Hey how is everyone doing out there!
Well I have a question, and maybe it was already brought up, but w/ the toy now revealed does this mean He will not have an earthmode, other than that cybertronian JEt like MeGs?
Maybe he never needed one, besides the Chevy truck probably was a bad idea afterall.

I think he'll remain a (Cybertronian) satellite and that's that.

    The difference with the toy will most likely be that his 'fake' face on his back, will be his actual face in the movie ; THIS ;

Hasbro used the other side for robot mode to incorporate G1 blue style ; but i fear movie Soundwave will be as metallic as his satellite mode.

I hope he maintains the Cybertronian mode. If he has an Earth alt mode, it should be something like a satellite transmission station or something.

Those were all just rumors, and 2/3 have been proven false.
As for Soundwave, I personally don't think he'll get an Earth mode, but I do think that his toy's robot mode is his real movie robot mode and his satellite mode is his movie alt. mode (confirmed by the RotF coloring book); the "space cruiser" mode was the Hasbro-added form as a way to make Soundwave more of an appealing toy for kids.
I'd rather have him just be a satellite than get that black pickup truck Earth mode, since Ironhide is already a black pickup. Though it's interesting that the design elements of that concept are evident in Soundwave's toy.

    ^

    Well, it's reassuring knowing that
    Frank Welker
will be the Soundwave's voice actor.

    Potentially.
    Or...
He could sound like wannabe-hiphop-DJ-Soundwave from the Cybertron cartoon. :lol

    Ha, "The" Soundwave.

Anyway, I think that fake face is just a mask. I think he'll have his classic head in the movie, along with the vocoder. He seems to have a pretty big role, since he was one of 5 Decepticons in the coloring book. (Megs, Screams, Sounds, Falls, Devs) Yay for s's.

yeah i agree with the rest when i say i want welker as the voice actor and i want him to retain his satilite alt mode the truck gimmick is just stupid bcuz unlike the rest of the transformers his alt mode wouldnt be significant to his character. a truck? c'mon get the F outa here...

Look, this is why I reckon Soundwave is still a truck, even if Bob said he's not the Silverado pickup.

Hasbro changed the satellite toy to be less movie accurate. I believe Soundwave's Cybertronian robot form will not be shown in the film, he'll be a silhouette with a voice tapping into humanity's computers. Alliance only depicts him in silhouette. The black colour scheme matches that of the truck concept art; the toy's G1 colours may just be a tribute. In fact the toy's robot form heavily resembles a truck; it even has a grill!

So I feel when Megatron returns, Soundwave will fly down and assume truck mode. Most satellites are the size of a truck and it puts him on equal footing with Ironhide and Ratchet at least. My only issue with the choice of a black truck is that he'll probably resemble Ironhide and Barricade too much.

I really hope I'm proven wrong, because I reckon Soundwave looks badass with his Cybertronian wings and cape.

...and THAT's what I'm worried about. A communications specialist needs to be as mobile as possible ; i.e. being able to fly.

Imo, he'll be like the toy ; a satellite, albeit with 1 difference in robot mode ; the toy robot will be movie Soundwave his backside ; hence the mock up face on the satellite frontside.

I don't particularly like the idea of Soundwave reformatting into a random truck....but I could definitely support him reformatting into one of the NEST vehicles to go under cover. I don't know how likely it may be, but it'd fit the character.

I think the random truck thing taps into classic MIB paranoia though - the truck there you barely notice is actually recording your every move.

That custom picture makes it movie Jetstorm for the win!

A NEST vehicle makes sense. Then he could go undercover and attack from within. That'd also support the early pictures of the NEST Hummers with the CanAm Spyders on set together (I believe Ravage will be a CanAm).
