To be entirely fair, forced perspective and extreme foreshortening are an established long-standing tradition in Transformers box-art, right from the Diaclone days. So I think the proportional issues with this image would be mitigated by the effects of the fish-eye lens that all Transformers seem to be viewed through.

On the other hand, I agree... Pat Lee still sucks.

Let's be entirely honest here... "Deployers" is still waaaaaay better than "Cassetticons", for all sorts of reasons.  

Also, since Minicons are pretty much now fully integrated into the larger TF canon, I suppose it only makes sense to lump all diminutive partners (Headmasters, Targetmasters, Minicons, etc) under the Minicon umbrella.

Personally, I'd much rather see Hasbro release the classic, er... "Deployers" in at least a Legends-class format, rather than Minicon sizes.

Wasn't Cybertron Soundwave's Laserbeak called a minicon? Looks like all of G1 Soundwave's tapes are now considered Minicons too. No big deal...

Soundwave is a no-brainer for a nomination. I do beleive that they should showcase all incarnations or nominate speckfric versions rather than melding them together.

Well, we are getting a WFC version, which is technically new, but that was in the works before this contest

 

Ha, I knew people would be a'flutter about the mini-con designation. I actually think the term makes more sense as a classification of a small Transformer (especially a Decepticon) than as the spawn of Unicron or whatever they were in A/E/C.

More vexing to me is the Cyber Missions reference. C'mon...those things are funny. but because they suck. You've got 13 lines to write about Soundwave and you mention his embarrassing weakness to light machine gun fire in a one-off?  

 

"He has few weaknesses, but an aggressive sonic assault – as by multiple, coordinated sonic booms – can overload his processing systems and make him susceptible to attack."

Well, then it's a rather stupid thing for him to be armed with two sound cannons, especially having one mounted right next to his head. That's about as smart as saying, "He has a peanut allergy, so he works at a Planters packing plant."


So he's been voted in. Now what? are they making special figures of all the TransFamers?
Otherwise it's just as meaningless as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
