My first version of shapeway Soundwave tentacles. I am going to adjust the size of the back plate to bring the tentacles closer to his body. The claws are also in the works. I wanted to share my progress so please comment and let me know what you think and if you have any suggested I'm more then happen to listen. I'll update once the the new parts come in. Thanks

Are those molded in one position, or are they a bunch of tiny segments?

They are tiny segments which makes them flexible.

He's gonna get with Wheeljack, I just know it in my heart of hearts. These tentacles, man, these tentacles.

They're missing the bits on the end though, the clamps.

While they technically come from somewhere on the chest, this way lets you deploy them with or without Laserbeak attached. Don't know how you'd make chest-mounted tentacles that could work both ways.

    Awesome!

    Very very nice!

I was doing something similar experimenting with my Dread Crowbar set, but I did not have much success as the weight of the links weigh the whole tentacle down. I suspect it's because I was using smaller ball joint diameters. Your ball diameters look much bigger, and I assume that makes the joints tighter and more secure.

I'm glad you managed to accomplish it. It is certainly very encouraging!
