Of course it had to have 2 of the harder colors to work with as far as digibashing goes, black and white. I'll probably come back to this and add more to it, like making the grille lighter to look more like SW's cassette hatch.
I think the vehicle mode needs more details, and some changes on the head, but I could see it easily working for a future repaint/remold.
I was going to put something like "Soundwave Audio" on the door, but I was having trouble getting it angled right to look like it was actually on there.
Nice try with the text, but it needs to be more stylized. If you're using PhotoShop and needs some tips with creating decals/graphics PM Superquad7 and tell him I recommended him. I'd say, for a Soundwave based Ford Mustang to re-examine the vehicle mode and where racing stripes would lay as well with other graphics. The next step would be to apply that to the robot mode. I'd say he needs racing stripes and HEAVILY stylized text, not just block wording. As for the frenzy figure, it shouldn't be too hard to retool it or work it into a Lazerbeak figure with wings and a fold out head. You have an AWESOME start and I think the color is perfect. It just needs some details to brighten up such a dark color.
Thats pretty cool....I love the blue....how about adding the mouth plate to the face?....or did you not wanna go that route?
I'm surprised how well this works, actually. Even the Barricade head kind of echoes Soundwave's traditional traits... at least as much as any movie TF resembles their namesakes. Nice idea! zmog
He was supposed to be some kind of undercover surveillance vehicle, but it isn't easy to make that clear without having "Undercover surveillance vehicle" printed on the side, which defeats the purpose of being undercover. I kept the lettering simple because it was late and I didn't feel like rifling through the font list looking for a good one. I'll probably change that at some point. If I ever actually make this for real, I may give him a faceplate, but for now I'm keeping it within standard repaint territory. Well, since Barricade and Blackout were both going to be Soundwave at different points in the pre-production, it does make a fair amount of sense that both of their heads show a good amount of design cues lifted from him.
Aww dang it, beat me to the punch. When my Baracade got here, I was going to do a kitbash with soundwave as a blue and white police car, and use a little putty to cover the mouth. Anyway, nice digi paint.
