As we all know, Frank Welker is back on board, reprising his role as Soundwave in Revenge of the Fallen. However, his voice isn't vocoded. Instead, we get to hear that ever-so-awesome Dr. Claw voice; a voice I loved listening to as a child every morning, watching Inspector Gadget. So, I got bored, and did three very short impersonations of Soundwave (Dr. Claw voice). Two are quotes from Revenge of the Fallen and the third one is a classic. Let me know what you think! Thanks. :)

At least todays generation will get the chills. Maybe they thought the vocoder would be to distracting. Animated over vocoded soundwave and perceptor. And I needed repeat viewings to understand them.

This voice is sinister, and is easy to comprehend what he's saying from the first viewing.

Xenon's soundwave is very cool. I almost feel like singing along with his voice.

I use Yogen Vocoder. I think that there is a demo that you can download. I just do my best Dr Claw impression and then run it through that :)

Apart from Xenon's accent peaking through very subtly every once and a while, his sounds perfect! But I think the accent gives it a unique quality which is why I like it so much.

Here is my attempt... I'm great at Dr. Claw but not so much the fx. So a fellow TFcog.net member Cypherplex55 did the vocoding for me. It's not perfect but I think it sounds really good. I wished I could have had more key changes to break up the monotone-ness, but I'm just a perfectionist.

Check out about halfway through this vid to hear my attempt:

I can sorta imitate Charlie Adler's Starscream with the line "The human's have taken it!"

I like Charlie Adler being chosen for Starscream, but the only thing I don't like about him is that all his characters sound exactly the same except the pitch is different with each one. I mean, Cryptkeeper sounds like, Chicken, who sounds like Cow, who sounds like Red, who sounds like Starscream, etc. I think the voice is great, I just wished he could deviate a bit from the voice that he bases them all on. His real voice sounds nothing like any of them so I know he could base characters on a different foundation.

I bet with a little pitching, bass, and slower tempo plus a lil robo fx and it would sound pretty darn similar!

Excellent Dr. Claw impersonation! Wish I could do that without suffering a sore throat. :thumb

Thanks, but again, I just did the Dr. Claw voice... Cypherplex55 did the fx for me. I WISHED I could do it for myself. There's a guy on YT that does it absolutely perfectly.
