Hey all,

Finally got a second to post abouy a WIP I have going.

Ever since I saw movie Jetstorm, I strongly felt he's a perfect mold for a TFTM Soundwave. A big ass heavy jet with lots of fire power.

Of course, What is soundwave without his crew?
So, in addition to the Soundwave Main custom, this one will incorporate Lazerbeak, Ratbat, Frenzy, Rumble, and Ravage.

Lazerbeak and Ratbat are from the Xbooster Real Gears. I've modded Lazerbeaks' head (like Jin) but with a ball joint and 2 joints. RatBat is pretty much simple mod to the X booster. Both these flying sidekicks will form armor and shields for Soundwave. In Alt mode, they form the Jet's lower weapon systems.

Both Frenzy and Rumble are from Mean Times, but modded out to transform into gun turrets. They will resemble their respective colors. (Rumble = BLUE!)

Ravage is bashed from the real gear camcorder guy. I've added extra articulation to the front legs, and have feet pop out for the back legs. He transformers into a jet booster pack for Soundwave's robot mode, and extra rockets that go underneath the Jet mode (in back, pulled out the energon key guns and made a spot he snaps into)
These pics are very blurry, but show the basic skeleton which ravage will be built from. Late last night, I added lots of sculpting onto this skeleton (thickened up the neck, added detail to waist and upper back legs, fixed ears and eyes)

I will put some up tonight. I am surprised there's such low replies to this topic. This one is full of my best work. I even built hinges for all of Ravages paws with pins!

Ah, so talented, and yet so wrong.  
Laserbeak's spelt with an 's' (unless you talk like Wazpinator and spelt 'ztimulated' with a 'z'  ), Rumble's clearly red in everything except the 'toon, and where's Buzzsaw?

Despite all this, Ravage is looking awesome, and I can't wait to see how you make the rest of it work...

Sorry, I spell Lazerbeak with a Z because it looks cooler.

I base my customs off the G1 I watched. Not the one in japan. I also think of the pile drivers on the blue one in the cartoon best suited the name "rumble" being he'd smash them into the ground, causing rumbling...

Rumble is blue.
Frenzy is red.

According to wikipedia:
Rumble's colours had been changed over the course of Generation one, originally being blue (leading to confusion as Frenzy was also blue) in the original TV show and Marvel comics. Dreamwave comics, however, released Rumble as a dark red and black character, just like the original toy.

Sorry but besides the toy (mix up) I've never heard Rumble (the blue one on the cartoon) get called Frenzy. I'm pretty sure Don or some writter made an "official statement" on the confusion

Those are some crappy pictures to say the least, but I am pleasantly excited about it from your write up. Can't wait to see the finished product(s).

f_r: Just for the record, FIBRIR   With that out of the way, I'll just add that you can name 'em "Bob" and "Rob" and that'll be "correct" because they're yours. I think "Lazerbeak" is a cool way to spell the name as well, but I'll just default to my previous statement.

I'd still like to add that I'm very much excited to see what you have in store  

 

Wikipedia, as always, is totally wrong. I've fixed it up. Rumble was always the red robot in the comics, heck the comic panels shown in the article SHOW him as black and red (well, dark blue and red, but keep in mind "shades of black" couldn't be done in comic books in those days). Rumble is also red in IDW's comics, as evidenced by Focus On Decepticons... and of course his Alternators toy is red. Plus,

I rest my case.

If Ravage is a backpack are they all going to turn into armour?? I think Buzzsaw/Laserbeak/Ratbat would look pretty cool as chest armour

Besides, the blue guy (rumble) always had pile-drivers transform from his arms. He rumbled the ground with them.

Bottom line, when I take pics of this done, they will be in shots together, you can call them whatever the heck you want.

Maybe if I move to japan, I'll change my mind.
