So, the next to last episode finished airing a half hour ago, and I'm still recovering.

Spoilers coming, so turn around if ye don't want em!

I was shocked when they killed off Christopher a few eps back, A.J. tried to off himself, but even those didn't prepare me for tonight's ep. Tony and Phil 'going to the mattresses'

Bobby Bacala end's up getting shot and killed while in a hobby shop about to purchase some trains for his hobby. O_O

    Bobby :(  :cry

Syl getting it in a car outside the Bing. He's not dead yet, but it was mentioned they don't expect him to wake from his coma. :cry  :(

Holy shit that was one hell of an episode. If Paulie gets it next week I'll be really pissed. He's my favorite of the bunch.

1 more ep to go...1 more ep.

I actually liked the ending. Lots of tension built up in the last 5 minutes all thanks to ideas that are implied, but actually just a family sitting down for dinner.

It leaves what happens next up to interpretation.

    Great fucking ending.

Casual viewers may have been like "WTF! Nothing happened!" but regulars will know thats how they ended almost every season, with him and his family.

I just love how they played into the hype of everyone expecting a hit or something similar at the end and just said "Fuck You" by cutting to black.

    So, yay!

Interpretation? Boo! Hiss! Yeah, I thought the ending was lame. The whole time I was thinking that they were going to get killed as a family, or the place was gonna blow, or something...very dissappointed...

yeah, I get that - watched it since the beginning - but, just didn't come across as a finale, you know? I was sitting there with about ten minutes to go, and kept thinking Paulie was gonna get shot, then AJ, then, whoever...Suspense, blank screen, artistic, I get it. Just don't like it; doesn't really seem like the way the show should end.

It's times like these I'm glad M*A*S*H got an artistic and fan-pleasing finale.

    I'm telling ya...

The shifty guys in the restaurant. The one dude goes to "take a piss" right before Meadow walks in. Then we see Meadow walking in, from Tony's viewpoint, then it all "goes to black" as Tony is killed by the guy who went into the bathroom.

I dunno. They have been thinking of a movie after the series ended. So I'm not surprised they left it open for this route.

But let's also not forget the music played in the end "Don't stop believing" by Journey. I think they just wanted us to imagine that there are other people in the world than just Tony & Co. Hell, I could walk into that diner and just glance at Tony and his family having dinner. It was just to build suspense and then...nothing!

It just ended to end but left enough open to warrant a motion picture.
    *SPOILERS!*
Paulie feels like he's nothing more than Tony's servant. Silvio is still in the hospital. Phil is gone for good. The NY Gang is glad to be rid of Phil since they were living in fear and glad to have their problems settled. The FBI Agent has his own story. Meadow is going for law with a great opportunity might get married and might be pregnant. Anthony Jr. is getting his life back on track and will try his hand at film making. Carmella loves Tony. And Tony is still Tony.

But no one is sure what is up with that darn cat.

    *SPOILERS!*
Phil's death was perfect! They made sure he would never be able to come back! Shot in the head and then having his head crushed/run over by the SUV! And then that one kid watching vomited from the grisly sight!

Still not sure how I feel about it. I do think it would have been better were it not for the hype. DC pretty much plays this as a standard episode, and I'm okay with that. I actually like the fact that he didn't play to the "OMG! It's the season finale! It much be big and spectacular!" mindset of every other show. However if that's the case, maybe we shouldn't have been fed commercials like "It's all been leading to THIS! - The FINAL Sopranos - EVER!!!!" I mean, really - are we to believe that the last 6+ seasons led u

But those decisions are made by the advertisers not the people who actually make the show.
