I'm a long time RPG player. Levelling to me is getting stronger, tougher, more dangerous to your enemies. Seems in this it's little more than grinding to the next unlock and nothing more. Don't get me wrong, I still have fun playing online, met some really good players, but between the lack of Power added to the level up system and the forced weapons (only certain weapons per class) I'm not really feeling the "Extensive customization" they laud. I would ultimately rather have NO weapons and be forced to scavenge on the levels. It's built on the Unreal Engine, It's definitely possible. I really just want the Path Blaster for my Destroyer and the ability to equip more than one upgrade at a time, maybe two at a time for more options.
Game balance. Class restricted weapons are there for a reason. Imagine Infiltrators running around with the health leeching shotgun.
Imagine if you could choose what vehicle mode you could have for your class. Imagine Jet Infiltrators with Cloak and Energon Harvester.
And how much fun would it be to someone who gets the game a year from now and can't possibly compete against the level 20+ players in the game because they're now so powerful the new guy can't even scratch them?
i feel more powerful now that i got the weapon, upgrade, and ability i wanted unlocked, because i know if i lost them all i wouldn't get as many kills
