(07/12/07, 02:30) OK, just watched it, and I agree Sony beat the competition. Helps that they didn't (couldn't, really) do a sales report at the start, and the games they showed sure looked pretty. Even a game or two I'm interested in. As for criticism- too long. Too many shooters (my RPG lovin' wife watched with me and, despite being the PS1 and PS2 player in the family, was seriously disappointed that everything PS3 was an action/shooter). Chewbacca's costume needs some maintenance. I found Home creepy. Felt to me like it was aimed at sucking in the MMORPG/Second Life crowd, and those people can make me... uncomfortable. The only complaint that I have that really matters though, is that I'm not sure they showed the PS3 as the console to get this holiday, especially at the low low price of.... what they had last year (yeah, I know - the models are better, cheaper, but the price tags in the Sunday ads are still gonna be the same). Most of the big titles are 2008. If they can muster through 2007 decently, I have confidence that they will pull out of their funk. But if they don't, I can see a lot more 3rd party support going to the competition. But at least the ball's back in the court now.
the only game i'm looking forward to from Sony right now is LittleBigPlanet. Everything else is a buy if theres nothing else to buy/play.
What press conference was everybody else watching? Sony showed some great and interesting stuff. From the PSN store, Wipeout looks like it could be fun, and Echochrome looks very very interesting. Some cool stuff for the rest of the year, but a lot of good stuff seems to be coming in 2008. A little let down by MGS4s final look, but Im sure the story will be great. Infamous sounds interesting, but Im nowhere near sold on it. The Killzone gameplay they showed looked simply amazing.
Can they at least try to memorize what they are going to say instead of having to look up at the text for every other word?
Its not coming until 2008 and it is still PS3 exclusive -if you consider that significant. Some new gameplay footage, too, along with a lot of old footage.
I enjoyed the Sony presentation, quite a few games that look real good. Alittle wait but thats fine by me. I'll be picking up a ps3 either tomorrow or saturday, tonight is soccer. Killzone2 definately looked good. I thought Metal Gear still looked good. Warhawk and a few others I can't remember the titles right now...
That's from the cinema scenes and its also on IGN. It definitely looks good (Its nice to hear they still have Grampa Max Tenyson as Colonel Campbell, but it doesn't sound like David Hayter is Snake -I want to say its Steve Blum, but I'm at work and I don't have the volume up too loud). I thought I had seen some NEW footage of gameplay but I have been internetting so much these past few days I don't remember where it was. If I find it I'll post the link here.
Heavenly Sword looks like it's gonna be the next big game for the PS3. If you liked God of War, that is definately a game that should be checked out. And there were a few other games that were shown that caught my interest...but sadly the names escape me. With the 60gig being $100 cheaper it may be worth picking up now.
Sony Press conference was made of Chewbacca, PSP, Shootan and Stickman Flash Games. MGS4 was the highlight.
Yeah, that new trailer kicks ass. I'm glad it is with english voice acting. Check out the helicopter that Liquid Ocelot gets into. You can clearly see Naomi waiting in the chopper for him. Interesting. Anyways, that trailer really got the MGS fandom jumping.
