That was odd but at lest it had the PS3 in it and not the fictional PS9 (or what ever number it was) when the PS2 first came out.

If I look at it constructively as an artist, I get what the commercial is doing/saying. Though if I just look at it as a commercial as the general public would it just leaves me with a wtf. It's not effective as a commercial highlighting what is so good about PS3 or why you should by the system. I'm just glad that they got away from their racist stereotype commercials they did for PSP. Sony, let me be blunt, if you want to do a sucessful video show people playing the system. Show actual in game, game play without it being pre-rendered or doctored up. Right now your commercials have been asstacular at best, or just blantatly offensive.

That 360 ad is freaking brilliant!

The PS3 baby commercial is brilliant too.

No. Not brilliant. Ingenious? No. Cool? That's not it...

Creepy! Yes, that's it. The PS3 commercial is creepy!

Stupid PS3 add. Makes me not want/care about PS3.

And that Xbox360 one is brilliant. Nice way of advertising the whole "play together" thing of Xbox Live. Makes me want to play multiplayer.

That PS3 ad sucks hardcore. And I can see why that 360 ad got banned. It's a neat idea for adult viewers, but young kids don't really need to be exposed to what it portrays and get more silly ideas about violence in their heads.

But you didn't want or care about it in the first place. so....that's a moot point.

People on YouTube are saying that it's a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey.

That said, I still don't like this ad. Call me old-fashioned, but I like video game and console ads that actually advertise the game/system. I hate the PSP commercials, and I wasn't a big fan of Nintendo's "Who Are You?" campaign because they barely said anything about the game (though Nintendo did have a little more focus on the games, but not much). That X-Box 360 commercial doesn't directly advertise the system, but you can tell it's all about playing with/against the world through Live. That is a good commercial.

The PS3 commercial is not. It's bizarre (and not in a good way) with the creepy plastic baby that starts laughing like Chucky. And oh, what's that? A rapid sequence of what might be video game footage that you can barely see because it's too damn tiny? Please. This commercial tells the viewer nothing about the PS3.

However, I did like the PS9/PS2 commercial. For some reason, I found it clever, imaginative, and pretty amusing, despite the fact that it barely advertised the system. And oddly enough, I love the old Segata Sanshiro commercials with a passion, even though they're in some way similar to the "Who Are You?" commercials, although the Segata Sanshiro segments sometimes related to the game featured in the commercial.

Then again, how do you directly advertise a system without making it a minute-long list of system specs and available software? I don't know, and now the whole thing is giving me a headache.

Who said I dont want one? Warhawk and Lair are games that I am totally interested in, and are exclusive to the PS3.

What I really loved about that 360 commercial was the different ways that it showed how involved you can get in the online aspect. One guy was completely ignoring the game until he got off the phone, while another two people were very casual about it, drinking coffee and taking one or two shots but not getting too into it. Great ad.

That PS3 ad was interesting, but it doesn't have anything to do with the PS3 other than show it, it doesn't try to make a point at all. I know that can be an effective way of marketing, don't give up all you've got just so you can keep people interested, but how am I supposed to be interested if it didn't tell me anything at all? And I really don't want a console that's gonna make baby dolls come alive and start speaking in really weird voices.

That Playstation 3 ad with the baby...just creeped the crap out of me. It's just plain freaky.

The Xbox 360's banned ad, on the other hand, is NOT creepy. :thumb

As a Resevour Dogs fan, I loved that.

The baby add is just creepy. And everytime I see the PS3 writing, I just keep thinking "Spiderman Movie"
