Just wondering if there's any difference between Sonokong version and the Takara version?
Just the box I think.
They're officially licensed Transformers, so nice cheaper alternatives to the Takara ones.
He comes in robot mode.
Makes the instructions even less useful.
but on the other hand... at least you can put him STRAIGHT on the shelf?
The price is a major difference. I have plenty Sonokong Transformers. Love every one of them.
i just ordered one too for 52 total with shipping. can't wait
No differences that I can see, but I've only got the sonoking version. However, its a great figure.
No MAJOR difference between these 2 versions in general but I'd read that QC for Sonokong TFs tend to lower as compared to Takara. (To my observation)

Also, I tried to verify this for myself so I purchased a Sonokong Magnus/Overload from Micron Legend series & I realised that the finishing on Sonokong's version appeared to be much rougher than its Takara counterpart.
Put the Sonokong piece up for sale after that.
Above comparison done for Micron Legend series but I'd heard from my fellow forum mates that Sonokong/Mocom did made some improvement on QC along the way thus pieces from Galaxy Force series turned out ok.
Just curious, but would a Sonokong Brave Maximus be an okay (budget wise) stand in for a Fort Max/Brave Max?
Where could I see these guys?
I say YES, if you can live with the inverted Cybertron insignia.
Wouldn't matter so much to me, i guess. i'd just use him to display in base mode.
hey car robots had the black upside down autobot g2 insignia's already; so it'd fit right in
My Sonokong Big Convoy and Takara Big Convoy are so alike in quality and finish that I have trouble keeping them apart.
Would it trouble you to make a few comparison shots for us?
I'd like to see a few side by side shots.
Is this company still making TFs, I ask because I'm living in Korea for the next year.
They lost the license in 2007.
Outside of their selection of BWII figures, I haven't gotten any more recent Sonoking. My understanding was that at first they actually used Takara's plant so they were made with the same materials, just with different packaging.
It was sometime later that they weren't able to do that anymore and had to do it on their own, but I'm not sure when that was.
Another company by the name of "Mocom Toy" took over the license.
Got my Big Convoy just now. A good purchase with a good price. But yeah, the packing sucks as my Big Convoy falls apart when I take him out of the box. The QC is definitely lower as there's some bad paint jobs. But not too major. Overall pretty satisfied with him
