Looking for vids of sonic from the new game? Try this on for size(after watching all of the game footage click on "sonic to the rescue" its quite nostalgic for long time sonic fans who should be able to automatically recall what the ending music covers/comes from. My only disappointment is that knuckles isn't a main playable character.
Ive been a massive Sonic fan since getting my Genesis back in the day. The new Sonic games just piss me off too much since every stage is flaoting in the sky and I fall to my death so violently. I've beaten every Sonic game except the Gamegear and Sonic Heroes.
Been playing the new Sonic demo on 360. It's avail for download in the marketplace. Pretty fun and may get the game. But I still feel Sonic was made for 2D
Sonic's had a hard time trying to make it in 3D... They got into the same habit that Mario has lately where the gimmick is more important than the character, everything revolving around one new game aspect... I enjoyed the 3D Sonic games so far, but they still dont live up to the likes of Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I will say this for the 3D games, though, I love Shadow and Rouge. Too bad Shadow's solo game sucked though.
Looking forward to getting it on Thursday along with a "destined to be delicious" copy of Gears of War.
Downloaded the demo and realized they have yet to make any advancement what-so-ever in 3D Sonic games. I thought the demo was just abysmal all around.
Call me old fashioned, but I remember when it was just one hedgehog running around like a madman, jumping on things, freeing small animals, and occasionally meeting the fat guy. Since then, the character bloat has just gotten ridiculous. That and the emphasis doesnt seem to be on SPEED anymore so much as 'Find the stage's gimmick'
I kept reading about how this was gonna be the 3D Sonic game that fixed everything that was wrong with all the ones before this. I played the demo and it didn't seem like they even tried to make it better.
Fourthed on the demo comments, I was seriously not impressed. I didn't particularly like the DS game either, The whole 3D stuff with 2D gameplay thing just didn't work for me in either that or NSMB.
I enjoyed Sonic Adventure and for the most part Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic Heroes killed it with the bottomless pits. The Demo on 360 made me decide to skip the new one since it uses the same stage style, I did pretty good when I just ran staright through the stage. When I stopped to fight or collect things I just would randomly sail off the edge.
