I just want a damn game for my Wii. Don't give me this bullshit, SEGA. You did well with Sonic Colors, now give us something else, too.

If people would stop buying terrible Sonic games, they would finally stop making terrible Sonic games. Sonic needs a fresh start with a completely new creative team in place.

You know how impossible that is. we can only hope other studios aren't lured to this practice. I hate how COD influenced the FPS scene, like what happening to BF3.

I never said it should be influenced by another game or studio. But the Sonic games haven't been exciting in a long time now. Sonic Colors wasn't bad, but that's about the best I could say for it. Sonic 4 was an interesting take that was worse than the other 2D games in the franchise.

Eventually someone at Sega is going to come up with a way to make the Sonic games relevant again. Unfortunately, I doubt the people currently working on the franchise are capable of that.

Interesting to see the original Genesis-design Sonic alongside the newer Sonic.

No Wii version? Darn it. I probably would've bought it, too.

It pains me that I think I have the perfect idea for how to reinvent Sonic. He needs something akin to Super Mario 64. Keep core gameplay mechanics in tact, but go off in a new direction on how we was represented in a 3D space. AKA: Take Sonic CD's intro, make the game as stylish as that, make Sonic do other super speedy things other than running, and keep ball based physics in tact.

This is just the standard hype trailer that fails to get me excited. It looks to use the Colors/Unleashed Framework, and the sound effects are there for the boost, the drift, the stomp, and the slide. There is no spinning or ball physics, something that made Sonic back in the day and has been neglected in nearly all the recent games. This does not bode well with me.

However, its been two years that they've been working and improving the Hedgehog engine, which displayed some of the best looking and detailed worlds this generation. I will be interested in seeing what they have done with it.

Colors was exclusive to the Wii and DS. Now something comes along for the 360/PS3 and you're complaining?

It was cute to see Sonic’s original design rendered in 3D.

Half of Sonic Unleashed was good.
    Sonic Colors was good.

Maybe the trend line continues in the ‘good’ direction, but I am not hopeful nor excited.

Didn't they say they were going to alternate games like this, anyway?

I'm guessing they're gonna have the old-school Sonic and current Sonic team up or something.

Seems like the only gimmick that won't intrude the core gameplay. I mean if all it is is being able to use both Sonics, wh ohave their own moves (As in current has the light dash, old-school has the spin dash, etc) and THAT'S IT, then it could be good.

Have they forgotten the "Episode 1" part of Sonic 4? Did they just drop the rest of it?

I'm complaining because I'm a huge Sonic fan and I want a game for the only system I have! XD

Ah well, I'll have to hold out for the rumored "non-sports" Mario and Sonic or Sonic 3DS.

Sega has caught my attention... Mainly because they brought classic Sonic back.

Heh. I swore to myself after the debacle that was Sonic '06, I would NEVER get hyped for a Sonic game ever again. We'll see how long I last, but in the meantime I'm probably gonna wait for a good number of reviews before even CONSIDERING to even look at this.

They... differentiated the gameplay between Classic and Modern Sonic.

    You win, Sega.

Sonic Team hasn't been able to produce a good game in 16 years and I see nothing in either trailer that convinces me otherwise.
