Agree with all of this! In fact, I have nothing else to add!

Ooooh except....anything by Jason Derulo - is no song sacred from his assault and abuse? Must all of his songs be classic, great songs that he just pisses all over and the world calls it a 'hit'.

I just don't see that much hardship in life in North America, raping about it doesn't convince me any more than looking at people's lives here. It sounds more like bitchin.

Anything by Kings of Leon (in particular, "Use Somebody"). The singer's voice is so grating to me.

Well, that's certainly a bit of a stretch......

Well honestly....there's a lot more than what you might find in the news n stuff. Not sure what your experiences are, but I've been around some of the more rougher places, gotten to know quite a number of people so some of the "rap" songs from the 90s are usually taken out of context (typically by the media). Of course, I don't expect anyone to understand a lot of the culture behind it, but if given the opportunity to get to know why some of the lyrics are the way they are....you'd probably gain a different perspective on them.

Then again there are the ones that are just blatantly talkin' about how "hardcore" they are....which....yeah I can understand why people think its stupid.

Out of the rap genre....the stuff I can't stand are the stupid ass bling bling songs....especially the one about the Louie Bag.

I immigrated here 20 years ago for a reason...

Mind you, I know life is hard everywhere just harder in some other places.

Anything country. Most modern rap and hip hop.

No it's not. It's just awful.

Oh I agree and wasn't trying to downplay how bad it could be elsewhere. Being told how bad it could be in other countries....sometimes you really do start appreciating what you have as opposed to what you don't have.
