Bumblebee. In most every media, his character doesn't bother me. Sometimes I like him. Sometimes he's badass. Sometimes he can be ungodly annoying. But no matter what, kids love him. They adore Bumblebee. And that is why 85% of the population already had one or more Bumblebee in their toy bins. So, tell me, why does Hasbro still insist on packing him as the primary figure in all case assortments? Why then, is there a crap ton of repaints? I know that when I was a kid, my parents only let me have one of each character. Growing up I had one Batman... I had one Superman... one Optimus, one Bumblebee... And yeah, there's the age old argument "but this one is better, mommy!" but it still doesn't change the fact that, ultimately, Bumblebee is a shelfwarmer. I know kids love Bumblebee, but he doesn't really sell that often anymore. It's annoying really, when people use the excuse "Bumblebee sells", because he really doesn't. You want me to go count how many Leader Bee's their are? Want me to count how many HA Bee's there are? What about all those legion Bee's? Or maybe the absolute tsunami of deluxe Bee's? Hell, the same goes for Optimus, to a lesser extent. Oi... I don't ever expect it to change, it will always happen this way. But it doesn't change that it's annoying. Rant over.
